Our town has a great Memorial Day parade. I just hope the rain stays away so we can have it.

Seems like half the town marches. The VFW and American Legion, the police and fire departments, ambulance corps, Boy and Girl Scouts, Little League, all the different bands. We usually get a state senator and sometimes the county executive, too.

I'm such a sap. The American-ism of the event chokes me up every time.

My son wants to march with his Little League team. I'm going to discourage him from doing it, though, because it'll bother me to see him walking so much with that heavy cast on his arm.

Always great, a parade. Let him walk, JJ, if he feels up to it. It's important to him.

My DD is the captain of her HS Marching band colorguard and Monday is the last time she'll march in our Memorial Day parade!..(it's her senior year) So I will watch with great pride! I Love A good Parade too, especially when the A certain Mouse is leading it!!

We have a GREAT parade -- I get all teary eyed when the vets go by, I'm such a sap. We have wonderful old buildings and tree lined streets. I always say it's like a Norman Rockwell painting. I'll be marching with Scouts, since I know so many students from my job and people from church and our school I always feel like a celeb. I hear my name yelled and I do the "princess" wave. We throw candy to the kids and this year I'm bringing dog biscuits for the pooches. Just pray the rain holds off.

My DD is senior drum major this year so this is our last Memorial Day Parade after years of marching band (DS is three years older and was in band all through HS). Hope the rain holds off long enough here!
