Is there any thing I should be worried about with these 10 extra points? Good news is they expire in 10 days.'Me 10 minutes ago''I found out I lost 10 more points and that this thread has seven pages'

You mean in the sentence you quoted?
I assume you don't know Uncle Remus posts in character.
If you don't acquire any more points, your signature will return with these points expire.
I don't usually comment on infractions publicly, but I will here since you've brought this up.
We're pretty intolerant of rudeness here, especially insults or attacks on other members. If someone is offended by another poster's opinions, values, lifestyle, religion, etc., it's best to learn to walk away or just say nothing. When you do speak to or about other posters, please do so with respect.
In regard to the opinions you expressed regarding Gay Days (and "gay" in general), consider this: The DIS is owned by a gay man. Some of the moderators here are gay. Many of the members here are gay. Lots of the cast members who create the magic we love so much at Disney are gay. If you have a problem with "gay", this is probably not a place you'll be happy spending much time.
Posting anti-gay sentiments on our Gay and Lesbian forum is not at all cool.

I did read the thread... up until I posted very early on... and I still don't consider what was there at that point "bashing". ( and whose "intelligence" are you calling into question?)
My post about what the candidate said was in response to another poster... why take things out of context.
and if you continue reading this thread.. you will see I state that I am glad there is a political ban...
I don't think the exception was due to political leanings as much as about friendship perhaps... or who was on mod. duty at the moment...

I am not questioning anyone's intelligence, only a person who would comment on the content of a thread before reading it. I stated that I read the thread saw what you didnt and commented that there was indeed Republican bashing going on. If I just assumed there was without reading the thread for myself that would be unwise. I read it, saw what was posted and was refuting your post that said there was no bashing and someone else was exaggerating, plain and simple.
My point is that there should be NO exceptions, but one was made on that board that day and time. And a moderator of ALL people should have known better than to start a discussion with politics involved. If anything he/she should probably receive points as well. They are well aware of the rules, unlike some posters who just jump in. The Op even stated it in their opening post that is was political, therefore it should have poofed and no one that entered the discussion should have gotten points when it was started by a Mod to begin with. JMHO of course.
I always thought you earned points, not lost them. Too many points is bad.

I'm still trying to figure out how someone intolerant of gay's would even be on the gay thread?![]()
Damn skippy it is. It is the civil rights movement of the 1960's being played out again. You'd think we would have learned the lesson after that turbulent era and know not to repeat it all over again. Apparently not.

Bottom line, we are all entitled to our opinion. If you are against homosexuality (or insert other issue here), I would suggest you stay away from those boards. That should keep you out of trouble. Also, stick to the issue at hand and do not call any other posters names. Try to treat other people as you want to be treated. I know it's not always easy if you feel passionately about something. I have just been avoiding those threads lately, if it is something I am passionate about and know might get my blood boiling.

No one got points for posting on that thread... the Op of this thread got points for posting on another thread on that board. If you read the Webmasters reply to him/her on this thread they mention the Gay days thread...
Oh and I had read the "political" thread... and still do not consider what was there to be bashing...

In the Gay/Lesbian forum, this warning does not exist. I interpreted this to be no politics in the Community Forum, but they are allowed in the Gay/Lesbian Forum.
Politics, by default, would be OT.5. POLITICS/RELIGION
Because of the large number of complaints of personal attacks related to these subjects and inability for many people to keep a civilized conversation when discussing these hot-button topics, politics and religion will no longer be appropriate topics on our forums. Political or religion based posts or threads will be removed, and repeated violations of this rule can result in an infraction.
9. MODERATORS
The DIS has a wonderful group of Moderators who have volunteered to assist our visitors and monitor the boards. Part of their responsibilities are ensuring that our guidelines are followed which may require that a thread is edited, deleted, closed or moved. If these decisions impact you, we ask that you respect them. Should you have any questions, please direct them to admin@wdwinfo.com. Any discussion about a Moderating decision that takes place on the boards could result in an infraction.
I Moderate a Political Discussion Board. The message board has numerous board categories like this board.
We have
National News
Local News
Opinion (I moderate this one)
Politics
and many others. In each category are sticky threads with rules. On DIS, the Community Board has this post
Forgive me Kathy
We have worked hard to keep the DISboards a place where people can discuss any topic as long as it's not illegal or profane, and as long as the participants can behave respectfully. Unfortunately, politics and religion often seem to bring out the worst behavior in people. Even normally polite posters find these topics pushing their hot buttons, and frequently lose their cool.
This past election season has been especially bad, and the rudeness and sniping between various groups has alienated posters and exhausted our moderators.
As a result, we are announcing a new policy on the DISboards, effective immediately: POLITICS AND RELIGION are no longer acceptable topics of discussion here.
This also will extend to signatures: no political statements, logos, or slogans are permitted in signatures.
Posts and threads of a political or religious nature will be locked or deleted, and are not to be restarted. We will also be updating our site guidelines to reflect this policy.
There are many sites on the web that welcome discussion and debate of a political or religious nature, but we feel that removing these topics from the DISboards altogether is in the best interests of our members. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
Now there are bolded statements for effect, but that really isnt my point.

I am not sure if that was the goal DISBoards is trying to communicate, but I did not see the political ban in that forum. Webmasterkathy, can you clarify for us please?
