If it wasn't so late and dark and if I didn't have this huge assignment that needs to be done for tomorrow I'd go out and take pictures, but everything's covered in a fluffy white blanket of snow!

We've had snow and flurries this year already, but it's always melted. Our temps are consistently below freezing now though and it's calling for snow or flurries all week so this looks like it might be the real start of our "winter."

Oh, you are so lucky!!!! I love snow. From your post it sounds like it has arrived earlier than usual, when do you usually get your first snow? I grew up in NY State and once in a very blue moon we would get snow in October, but usually we don't get the first snow until December.

We had our first flurries of this year back in late September I think, but that was just an incredibly light dusting which melted. So this is the first snow that looks like it might be around to stay. Our first real snow like this varies, and this does seem a tad early but not really. It's just a shock to have it being "fall" one moment and then check out the window to see a good inch of snow everywhere. I remember a few Halloweens as a kid with snowsuits on under our costumes trudging through knee deep snow. (You know you're from Manitoba when Halloween costumes are designed to fit over snowsuits! ;) ) Usually by early November at least we'll have real snow. The problem is... from here on in it's just going to get colder and colder and snowier and snowier! :p ;) It seems that we have snow for more of the year than not. Pretty close at least.

I will admit that it's really very pretty outside at the moment, though I'm sure the novelty will wear off quickly. ;)

For PinWizard... it's 2:00 am and pitch black outside and I'm warm and cozy inside and about to go to bed, so how about a virtual snow angel instead. :teeth:

It's a marshmallow world in the Auntumn.....:)

Sounds very pretty #1 Disney Fan! :)

.....keep it out west though, okay?

Ewwww...............:(

PLEEEEEASE keep it out west? LOL;) We're actually to get a snowy Hallowe'en here...........yuck.

There should be a law....no snow before Halloween!

Sounds too cold for now, Lynne, but we will be there I am sure too. Brrrrrrrr!!!!!! :)

They don't call it Winterpeg for nothing eh Lynne?!

And I agree with Kim and Sammi! Keep it out there please!

Sometimes I swear I really miss true winters with tons of snow. We are lucky to get about 7 inches total in a winter... on a good one we will get just over a foot total for all winter long... others we will get like 2-3 total :( Enjoy that snow, but sorry it is already so cold there. Take a few minutes though from your studying and last bit of midterm preparing and take a few pics and enjoy it :)

This may be a bit off topic, but I had to share this with a Canadian neighbor..
my Grandmother has never traveled much, and likes it that way. But a couple of summers ago we were packing to go to Toronto and Niagara Falls and she was here, but thought we had completely lost our minds. Why were we packing shorts and bathing suits? Everyone knows Canada is always snowy and cold! I had a hard time convincing her that the particular area of Canada that we were going to was actually SOUTH of us! And in July, it was going to be every bit as hot, or hotter, than here!! Too funny...
By the way, we are supposed to get snow for Halloween, too. My kiids always wanted to celebrate Halloween in an warm area so they could wear JUST thier costumes.... not bundles of layers over or under!

Bleh...I woke up to that same blanket of white stuff...we must be neighbours #1 Disney Fan. Told the kids "mommy is going back to bed...wake me in April". I'm in denial....give me another week and I'm sure I'll have adjusted :teeth: What are the chances the kiddies will have a snowless Halloween?

I love it! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :teeth:

I miss the summer.:( Maybe I'd like winter more if we actually got a lot of snow. We usually only get very cold weather, but not much snow.

No-oh-oh-oh-oh! :( :( :( Maybe it was all a figment of your imaginations because you were up so late? :p

I love making snow angels too Pin Wizard. That's about the only thing I like doing in the snow. Oh, that and holding hands, at night, while the snow falls, taking a walk, on the first snow. After that, the snow is completely unromantic to me. :p

OHHHHH......don't listen to those other Ontarioians (did I get that right  ) send the snow here!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I love snow!

Exactly Baboo. :p Winterpeg, Manisnowba. :teeth:

Marion, I do believe that does make us neighbours. :)

Girls Scout Leader... LOL at your story. :teeth: Surprising that we even get internet access up here in our igloos isn't it. ;)

Saffron... no sorry not a figment of my imagination this time. ;) Marion saw it too! :p Your vision of walking through the fresh falling snow is so romantic!!! :) I want to do that. :(

Pin Wizard... you're very welcome. :)

Mickey65... I'll try to round up some snow and send it just to your place, somehow avoiding all the other Ontario DISers. :teeth:
