I have family from England coming out in September 2003 - They would like to stay right by Disneyland. They are a family of 5 - What is a great hotel to stay at near by that would suit a family of 5 for a decent off season price - I am not familiar with the hotels at all since I live so close, I don't have to stay in one. One with a kitchen would probably be great -

Thank you!!!

Karen

Karen, if you want a kitchenette you'll need one of the suite hotels. Will they have their own transportation? The suite hotels that Disney offers with their packages are all about a mile or more away, except for the Residence Inn by Marriott -- that's a LONG block away.

There's an Embassy Suites Anaheim South about 1.5 miles away; the Hilton Suites are about 2 miles away. If none of those work let me know, there are plenty of others in the area as well. :)

They will have their own transportation - I have heard so much about the Candy Cane Inn - Would that suite their needs?

The CCI does have deluxe rooms that hold five but they don't have kitchens. It is a very popular hotel and very close to the DL Resort. :)

I think as long as they have a fridge and microwave, they'd be set - What would you suggest? (sorry, they just want me to research this all for them because I can get a cheaper price here then they can in England)

We stayed in a Best Western that was on the same street as the "famous" main entrance sign several years ago - I believe it was the Park Place Inn - it was a couple hotels down from a Tony Romas and was a comfortable walk in. I don't know if it is still there but our room was a two room suite, ideal for families - there was a parent room with a king size bed and bath and then a pass through door to another room that had a 1/2 bath, mini-kitchen (fridge, microwave and coffee pot). It was very clean, nice and inexpensive. We haven't been for a long time but if it is still there it would be a good option.

Check out the Staybrdge Suites which are about a 5 minute drive away. The downside is that they're next to the 5. The plus side is that they do have two bedroom suites with a FULL kitchen. My cousins' just stayed there a week ago and it was a really nice, clean place. I would have no trouble staying there at all.

We are going to stay at the Best Value Inn which they say is 1.5 miles away includes breakfast, a light dinner, hotel shuttle, and a fully equiped kitchen for the AAA rate of $75/ night. I have also seen this similar price on Expedia. I'll tell you if it was ok or not in a couple of weeks.;)

Try the Homewood Suites at Harbor & Chapman . . . they have small kitchens with refrig/freezer, microwave, stove etc. equipped with dishes, a toaster, etc. They are part of Hilton & I would try the hilton.com website for rates.

Like IandGsmom we are trying out the Best Value Inn and Suites! We got a bi-level "penthouse" with a queen bed, queen sofabed and murphybed, full kitchen and living room 2 bathrooms light dinner and breakfast included for $89 a night in midJuly. I have read alot of good things about Best Value on some other boards.

If they would like to be closer there is BW Park Place Inn, 2Q beds, sofabed(seperated by a half wall)frig and microwave with light breakfast right at the crosswalk for the pedestrian entrance to the park. Or the Desert Inn 3 hotels and one IHOP away they have rooms that sleep up to 10 and have a frig and microwave and light breakfast www.anaheimdesertinn.com

HTH and let us know what you decide!
Tina:)

Just wanted to let you all know that they checked out a link I sent them (http://www.geocities.com/ashpsyche/DisneylandLinkMap.html) and they checked out a few of the hotels -
Some of the hotels that they tried didn't have the special deals going for their entire stay -

They are going with HoJo - I gave them Willie's email to see about getting a special deal - Do any of you know what the Home Office Room is about? Any info would be great -

Thanks again for all your help!
