Loved the Duffy meet and greet. I won't get it posted for a while on my trip report but the Mickey Meet and Greet at MK with Mom was priceless. Some of the characters can do a lot of interaction in just a few minutes and others seem like they don't know what to do.
Ooooh, can't wait to hear about your Mom's meet with Mickey! You are totally right - sometimes the characters make so much magic in a short time and sometimes they fall flat. I think we had a lot of good luck on this trip with the characters - they were almost always excellent!
Well that stinks that you have to wait in a long line to get the free print. It kind of defeats the purpose I think.
It was annoying. And I doubt the line is always that long, but I just didn't have the luxury of coming back later - it was either then or never. And I wasn't willing to give up an attraction or a character meet for a photo. It was the right call.
VERY impressed with your ability to keep your cronuts intact with that little covering.
Ha, me too. If only I'd thought to bring a to-go box.

Luckily, I always bring a lot of zip locks when I have Izzy (they come in handy for a lot of stuff!), so that helped, once I remembered to put them in and pack them away.
Oh trust me, there is no picture limit on my Duffy love. That bear means a whole lot to me. That is such a precious meet with him. I'm so glad that more and more people are finally getting on the Duffy Train. Once you meet him once, you'll be hooked.
Nice, glad I didn't cause a Duffy overdose!

Having a toddler that loves stuffed animals has really changed my opinion of Duffy. I actually was kind-of sad that they didn't have him available to meet at Aulani (you'd think they would, since he's so big in Japan and there are tons of tourists from Japan at Aulani.

)
we had it much quicker with Olivia than with Peter - actually still working with Peter as he regressed after Emma was born (which is typical). Definitely recommend underwear with characters he like on them just so the he wants to get to wear them. And we have a treat that he only gets for using the potty (we use m&ms but I am sure mini-marshmallows would work too - just whatever you use only have it available for when they use the potty)
One thing you can do at the beginning is use underwear and then a diaper over that. This way they still feel it when they go, but you still contain it without getting pants, etc dirty
Thanks for chiming in! You are making me glad I have a girl.

Thank you for saying that about doubling up the underwear and diaper, though. I had wondered if that was something people do, but I never saw any mention of it in my internet "research", so wondered if I was crazy to think that was the best of both worlds. I think that might be the next thing we go to, as Izzy has been doing an excellent job of going in the potty and keeping her diaper dry all day (except during sleep).
And, Alicia (
@Leshaface ), I'd also throw in that my biggest tip is to keep bringing him to the potty every hour or so, to make sure he has some success. That is the main thing that the back-up daycare did and it really made a difference. Now our regular daycare person is trying to bring her more often and we are doing so at home. She's doing great using the potty and keeping her diapers dry. Before the last week, she would often tell us AFTER she went in her diaper, but just this weekend, we noticed that she seems to have caught on to the feeling of NEEDING to go and is starting to tell us before and ask to use the potty. What a difference a week makes!
Bummer about that line for photo prints - is it always like that? Hat when they advertise a perk but then make it challenging to actually get said perk.
I don't think it's always like that, but it has potential to get pretty long, since it's a fairly slow-moving Photopass counter line. Under normal circumstances, I'd just circle back later in the day or on the way out, but I just had a tiny window on this trip and missed out. We have gotten the photo on a couple other trips and my memory is that the line moved slow, but wasn't as long then.
BTW - are the Disney cronuts different than normal crounts?
I doubt it. Probably just more expensive, due to the pixie-dusting.
Looks like a great meet with Duffy! I've kinda been anti-Duffy as it feels like something they invented just to sell all the outfits - but clearly I have been depriving my kids if happiness.

Glad the CM did such a great job with the photos and video!
I clearly remember seeing Duffy plastered everywhere on a pre-kid trip and making fun of him. It seemed like a silly marketing ploy, like you mentioned. But what a fun character to meet. Who doesn't want to hug a giant teddy bear with a Mickey on him bottom?

The funny thing is that Izzy has a Duffy and a Jedi outfit for him, but NEVER wants him dressed. So, marketing backfire, Disney!

She actually seldom plays with Duffy at all, but he hangs out in her crib, along with her 27 other "friends".
