Here are some interesting Jello molds. Can you believe the artistry?

Why don't we do things like this anymore?

For some reason, people associate Jello molds with the 70s and feel they are outdated.

I like jello molds. Always have. See no reason to not do them. :)

you can update your ingredients........I make crabmeat mousse in our jello molds...wonderful appetizer and always gets great raves....

Mmm. Radishes and lime jello.:rotfl:

Recipe for crabmeat mousse:

2 cans of crabmeat drained.....does not have to be the expensive
stuff....
1 can of cream of mushroom soup.....
1 - 8 ounce cream cheese
1/2 cup of finely chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 cup of mayo.....
2 1/2 tbsps or two and a half envelopes of Knox unflavored geletin
dissolved in 1/2 cup water

combine everything but gelatine mixture....heat .do not boil....while
still
warm stir in gelatine mixture ....remove from heat....pour in a 5 1/2
cup mold.....
and refrigerate......serve on a platter with good choice
crackers......this is a must at most
of our families parties....also gone first......

My mil makes jello - molds - for all the holiday meals ...

I tried it.. lets just say I do better adding the knox blox into the jello - :confused3

but I admire those that have the skill to create memories with jello...

(and she always served it on a special small plate, a lettuce leaf, and a dash of cottage cheese, then you would take some jello... with veggies - maybe that's how they got kids to eat veggies...

I should've tried harder!!)

Gosh I love love Jello. I still make molds, I have the tupperware one not real pretty but it is easy to unmold.

Personally, I prefer cake molds:

Oh, I forgot to answer your question. I believe it is now illegal.

I never could get the hang of using a mold for jello - they're pretty, but I just couldn't get 'em to come out. :(

I love jello though, especially the sugar free - only 10 calories per serving!! And top it off with a dollop of fat free Cool Whip - yummy!! :cutie:

The last time I made a jello mold was over 10 years ago. It was Christmas Eve and my new MIL was coming. I had worked a half day, came home made several home made dishes, the only thing I didn't cook myself was the ham. A lovely candy cane jello mold. MIL's comment, well maybe her son would teach me to be a better cook. I was 49, not a first time bride! We get along okay now, but I have never forgotten that and she has never apologized for it.

I like my jello plain with cool whip it doesn't matter if it is in a mold. Veggies in Jello is just wrong IMHO especially since it reminds me of funeral Jello.

Jello was invented in Leroy NY near me:) so we still see a big Jello Salad at Potluck:laughing:

My MIL always put a huge scoop of mayo on the jello EWWW :(

I still make 12 layer Jello with sour cream and it gets good reviews.

My grandmother used to make a lime Jell-O mold with shaved carrots inside. Skeeved me out every time! :scared:

My kids eat Jell-O by sucking it up through straws. We're very proud.

Ok, I can't believe no one has said this yet, but I like my jello with either Rum or Tequilla in it!! JELLO SHOTS!! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I make a really good Creamsicle jello shot! :rotfl2:
