I was just sitting here thinking about how they would never let the thrill ride idea go unless they had something to replace it with. Then it hit me. Take down all the metal panels that make up the outer skin of Spaceship Earth, replace them with glass panels and what do you have? Thats right, A GIANT SNOW GLOBE!

They could rip out the existing sets, leave the current ride system in place, put in a snow machine and Presto, Snow Globe The Ride (Brought to you by Microsoft, the company that has been snowing you for 20 years). They could then replace the global neighborhood with a gift shop straight out of Ei$ner's dreams (and our nightmares). I can just hear the perky voice as the ride vehicle approaches the unloading station:

"Wow, that was fun!, Now that you've riden the ride, why not take a little bit of the snow globe magic home with you. Welcome to Microsoft's Snowglobal Neighborhood. Here you can buy the snow globe of your dreams. You'll have great fun for a few months gazing into your slowglobe, until its time to return it for an upgrade. You can also purchase an upgrade for that old copy of Windows 98 you are still running. After all, Whats more magic than upgrading your OS? And hey kids!, be sure to try out the interactive "Blizzard of Viruses" booths. You'll have loads of fun as you try to guess how many patches Microsoft has released while you were riding Snow Globe the Ride. Yes, minutes of fun await you in Microsofts Snowglobal Neighborhood. See ya there!"

Suddenly Time Riders doesn't look all that bad.

Now that is funny.

I think the Disney/Microsoft relationship could then expand with a "new" attraction to enhance guests visits to Epcot called -
"Bill Gates CyberSpace Ranger Spin" - Take a trip through cyberspace where you aim to shoot down evil Linux Penguins! :jester:

Mr. Hound,
(tounge firmly through cheek)
I do not know what you have been smoking / ingesting but I am sure it is a controlled substance.
Please dont let the Bozos in Burbank get hold of it or they will think that they have had some type of vision and things will get even worse!!!

I usually  at these types of posts...but I was ROFLOL on this one!
Now thats imagination! :D

part of the ride expierence is when they shake the globe to make the snow fall. A new thrill ride.

LOL!! Thanks for the laugh!! :teeth:

renknt is right. Burbank has already read that and started. I was at EPCOT yesterday for opening of Food and Wine....they're already moving in the glass. Bet you're not getting one red cent....they love it when they don't have to pay for ideas.

Just an idea:

You get on an elevator or moving walkway to the top and at the top you board little cable supported capsules (the snow particles in a snow globe; or elevators without guide rails) that descend like Coney Island (New York)'s parachute jump. There could be some that descend slower than others for "chickens".

Actually I don't think they can get the full snow globe effect because when the panels are removed, there is a non-spherical support structure inside.
