Just when you think it's all MAGICAL and HAPPY... BAM! The DIS posters lay down the law! I haven't purchased the tickets yet and don't plan to until we get there. There is a chance all the "fighting" has worn me down and I will end up obeying "the law". Or I could always make my CM buddy get up at the crack of dawn to wait for AK to open and get us in. To him, getting him up that early IS the greater of the two evils ; )

It's midnight in Maine, 19 degrees. Time for me to go to sleep and dream of warm, yet air conditioned Florida...only 4 days away.

G'Night, and thanks for the lessons in morality ;0)

Just when you think you've tried to smooth things over and...BAM! You're taken wrong.

If you really need to get upset at someone for (1) pointing out that something you suggested is against the rules (if nothing else it would stink to get caught and have a problem at the gate) and then (2) tried to show that, based on what you typed, maybe the prices difference wasn't that much, well go ahead. I hope that makes you feel better.

They don't finger scan kids (DD is 9 and wasn't finger scanned last weekend).

I'd do what you're planning if in the same situation.

And yes, I'm aware that means my DD will grow up to be an ax-murderer.

Well now that I read further and saw that it may not be against the rules I will say - go for it.
What's not against which rules? That Disney admission media is not transferable IS a rule, so two people using one ticket is against the rules.

Right. Only 1 child per day.
Wrong. Only one Guest per ticket.

Just when you think it's all MAGICAL and HAPPY... BAM! The DIS posters lay down the law!
Restating the rules of use for something is NOT 'laying down the law'. Disney's house, Disney's rules. For the poster advocating or supporting or encouraging some activity to beat the system - no, your kids won't grow up to be ax murderers. But they likely WILL grow up with misdirected senses of entitlement, that they can do things the way THEY want, that rules don't apply to them... whether it's because they've spent thousands of dollars on something in the past, so it's fine that they beat the system out of $60; or they've spent $20,000 on a car, so they don't have to pay for gas once in a while; or they spent several hundred thousand dollars for a house but can get away with not making one mortgage payment; or they shop at the same supermarket week after week after week, so one trip it's okay to just take a magazine without paying for it...

mcgyver it and just put a band-aid or two on the kid...

You're going to have a wonderful and magical time! :goodvibes Woke up to another morning below ten - you're lucky to be getting out of here on Wed - we don't get to leave until Sunday (I'm a teacher, so I have to wait for all the kiddos to go!). Maybe we'll see you all there! :lmao:

I think she meant the "posting rules" for this board.

Do you think my children were up with me last night taking notes? Or that I have asked THEM how they think I should handle it? And for you information, I have NEVER NOT paid for gas, OR SHOPLIFTED, and how on earth would someone be able to SKIP a MORTGAGE payment without your house getting foreclosed on?? If you have an answer -- DO TELL! I have been a few DAYS late on my mortgage. They have never accosted me for it.

It's Sunday. I guess the "Holier than thou" crowd has arrived...:woohoo:

I will be the one "jumping the fence" with her children :rotfl:

I know we will have a wonderful & magical time, thanks! And have a wonderful & magical time yourself!

It could be worse, we could have 110 inches of snow in 7 days!
Hope all you upstate NY'ers are safe & well.

Thanks for the great vibes!

Mum2monsters,

If I were you I'd just drop it at this point.

You've (perhaps unknowingly) attacked the sacred Disney cow, which is sure to unleash a tirade of insults and curses accusing you of everything from being a bad role model guilty of larceny to a profane soiler of the holy mouseland.

I think you got your answer...and you said thank you. Might as well wave good by and move on. Nothing good will be happening on this thread for the next 400 posts...or until the moderator closes the thread.

Have a great vacation.

Mum2monsters I hope you know this type of flaming happens all the time here.

Yesterday there was a moral debate on the restaurant board because somebody has a 4 yo who only eats certain foods. People jumped all over the poster for asking if he can bring a PB&J sandwich along for the preschooler.

They told the OP that it would be rude to bring the sandwich.

I told the haters that they would think it was more rude when the child has a tantrum because they can't have PB & J!

I just don't understand why people can't live and let live.

Isn't the issue here that you are instilling in your child your ethic that it is OK to violate rules and in this case committing fraud? Is that worth the money to you to be that kind of role model?

We've already been off-topic a few times so here goes...

Have a great trip!!!

and be sure to use your fast passes before the time-window ends. Just another thing you need to be on the honor system about :)

Actually, I believe the poster is the one who asked if it would be rude. People answered the question for them. Then of course, other people get upset for some reason that people are answering honestly.

In this case, if you open yourself up for it by stating you know it is against the rules but want to know if you can get away with it, be prepared for the answers.

My kids have had to use the finger scan when they had child tickets - DD was 8 at the time.

Only ADULT tix (10 yr and up) require the scan.

Kids are "allowed" to scan their fingers (and WANT to... just try to STOP 'em ;) ) but it doesn't mean anything.

Strange this is from another post entitled "I know this taboo, husband over the fence."

OK OK, I know I know. I will probably be struck by lightning for asking or even thinking this. However... we are headed (driving from Cancun) to WDW starting Wednesday. We go to Orlando every year, and usually visit WDW every other. This year, my 47 year old husband ONLY wants to go to Animal Kingdom (POCAHONTAS!) and his 31 year old daughter (AKA, the Witch) who was too cranky to go last time, only wants to go to MK. SOOO to my question.... can i get a 2-3 day hopper pass for the Witch and use it between those two? Will they be required to use the BIOMETRIC system?? Or can I just have the Witch use the ticket and secretly toss my DH over the FENCE at the other park? Can I get away with it? It's soooo much cheaper to do it that way..

May the Mickey Gods forgive me...:worship

HOLA!

That's easy! I know THAT answer. I KNOW all the adults get scanned. I WOULD NEVER try that. Now, tossing the DH over the fence? That MAY JUST WORK!

Que Lo Pases Bien!

I got up this morning and find to read both of those threads together. Here are my thoughts....

I am not going to judge either way or give my opinion. I know how I would handle this situation and that is all I need to be concerned about.

However, I get the feeling that OP is purposely trying to strip up a heated thread. "TABOO.....Husband Hopping the Fence" almost seems to be as if someone is enjoying the objections on this thread and wants to add fuel to the fire.:furious:

Posters may want to keep their wits about them before flaming because I think that OP is delighted to see us attack each other.

This is only an observation and nothing else.:)

I am sorry Poohluvr! I thought you were kidding about that other post, but now i see it! Geez, this is so silly.

Man, you're hostile.

Not hostile, just honest. I have always had a difficult time understanding why someone would knowingly do something wrong. A starving man stealing a loaf of bread, that I can understand. Your trying to use 1 ticket for 2 kids knowing it is against the rules... that is harder to understand. In your own words the money is not an issue. Perhaps your motivation is just "getting away" with something.

You are the one that started this thread and have kept it going. You admitted in your first post that you knew using 1 ticket for 2 kids was wrong. Then anyone who points out the obvious... this is WRONG, and you shouldn't do it...you get upset, and start stirring the pot more.

Your comment "Do you think my children were up with me last night taking notes? Or that I have asked THEM how they think I should handle it?"... Guess you can always tell your children "Do as I say not as I do."

I think jenwimett may be right... you seem to be trying to cause disharmony here.

And, by the way, I slept very well last night. Neither my conscience nor your ticket decisions kept me awake.
