I always wish I could stay at the Magic Kingdom, LOL, so I wish there was one themed for Fantasy Land! Wouldn't a storybook theme be cool -- with princesses checking you in and Princes taking your luggage to your room??? I'd have it look just like the buidings around the Dumbo ride!

What resort theme would you like to see?

I've said that I wish the Contemporary could be remodeled into an elegant space resort, kind of like the interior of Space Mountain (moody, stars and galaxies around) but very deluxe.

I still like the idea of a mediterranean themed resort on Bay Lake behind CR on stilts actually IN the lake. Accessible by boat or bridge.

for me I would take the AKL and move it over to the BW area. then I would knock down walls and make rooms bigger, so one room now would be the sizwe of two rooms. then I would decorate it more like the "suites" that AKL has. love the decorating in them.

I want the Polynesian just like the way it is... I just want the monorail to loop to MGM and AK! I wouldn't mind if they could have a water way to Epcot, MGM and AK... this way you have plenty of varieties of transportation. And besides the bus... there's also the train! And heck if it's not too much, why not a helicopter to AK!

you know when the Studio was in the planning stages - WDW did look to expand the monrail - but the price was so high.

they just extended the lagoon from the Epcot resorts to Studios.

There is one.
It is called ALL Star Movies and it is just like a Disney Movie Fantsyland.
The young ones have so much fun there. There is a three story tall Woody.
Buzz is also there. There are dalmations everywhere. The children are so WOWed by it.
I love watching the little ones enjoy the pool with Mickey squiting water at them while they play in pool.
They have pop up fountains and a really cool kiddie pool.
The food courts have an area where they play Disney movies so the children are entertained while they are eating.

I am 55 years old and travel several times a year. I often stay at 4 star hotels.
So the deluxe resorts do not have anything special for me.
All Star is like being in the heart of the Magic and that is where I want to be.

Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-POP buses---CSR buses--PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 25 min-----15 min------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 20 min-----15 min------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----15 min-----15 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------15min-------10 min----15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min------35 min-----15 min---35 min

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot,MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.
Also All Star is closer to the main road to get to parks and thats why bus rides are shorter from there than from POP.
Things I would add to ALL Stars if I designed it.
1. A shaded area at the bus stop.
2. A hot tub
3. Rooms that sleep 5 (like POR) at a mod price
4. I would not add a pool slide. Older children often bump into or cut in front of younger children in their rush to get to the slide.
I love seeing the younger ones enjoying the pool without the chaos a slide brings.

I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theaming is pure Disney.
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic :wizard: at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?
Have a great time at Disney!

I would take the GF and place it directly above and behind IASM for a view of the castle and main street.

Oh, I would also make the prices for the rooms similar to those at SoG. :rotfl2:

I would just add a few things to the Polynesian, which really is my dream resort . . . I cannot wait for December!!!! But these would be my suggestions:

1.) hot tubs. I still can't believe it doesn't have them!

2.) a romantic restaurant with castle view geared to adults, but still in the relaxing Polynesian atmosphere, ideally with the inimitable Sam Choy as menu creator, advisor or chef. (LOVE him!!)

3.) Polynesian music completely throughout the resort.

4.) Another pool! They just get too crowded.

5.) every room would have a balcony!

6.) Minnie would be at the character breakfast again! In her Hawaiian gear! It would also serve Tonga Toast like Kona!

7.) The Luau would be redone to include Lilo and Stitch, free rum punch like it used to have and more extensive choices, and better quality food, especially a better dessert! (more in line with the quality of 'Ohana or Kona).

8.) A statue or something in remembrance of Queen Liliuokalani, an extremely important part of Hawaiian culture.

9.) A special Lulu suite just for me! (and then I woke up . . . ) :goodvibes

I would like to see a resort that is much more "DISNEY". I know that asmov is "disneyesque", but I mean, take the contemp. for example, rebuild it, and make it Mickey Manor, or Steamboat Willies.......... everything would be totally disney, mousekateers would check you in.......... there would be a "huge" theater in the lobby, showing disney cartoons 24 hrs. a day........ the characters would come for a meet and greet during the day, photo op's with different characters at certain times, cool furniture in the dining area, like what's in Mickey and Minnies houses, with a restaurant like the one in house of mouse, everything themed to disney, with another one like neverland. The rooms would be bigger, but not more expensive, with different sections, mickey, minnie, donald, daisy, goofy, and the princess section...... totally done up disney style, I'd just like it way over the top with theming, much more than at the asmov. I would love for it to look like the castle from the front......... but then each section would be themed for each charater.......... I'd love a pirates of the caribean pool, a mickey shaped pool. I love all the resorts, but I'd really love a "Disney" resort.

Pick up the VWL and move to the location currently occupied by the Swan and Dolphin and have unlimited access to SAB at BCV.......Perfect resort! :jumping1:

Walt's appartment in the Castle :goodvibes

seriously though, I would like a "Castle" resort - but they probably wouldn't want two castle's in Disney World.

Not very Disney, but how about an alpine resort?
Made up to look like a great big skiing lodge - roaring fires (in winter), saunas, steam rooms, imitation snow sledges running around the resort on rails for interior transportation-

And it'd be a great site for an indoor artificial snowdome/ski-slope/ice-rink - free for resort guests of course! (and a wee charge, like the water parks, for outsiders wanting a bit of snow time) with a disney on ice dinner show each evening in the rink...

All I can say is, BIGGER BEDS!!! I'm a little partial to this subject. DH is 6'8", I'm 5'9", so there is no way we can even sleep in a queen together whithout pushing each other out of bed! :rotfl2: We have two DD's (10 & 8") so the bed situation at WDW gets tricky!

That was what I was thinking. I mean, all their resorts are great, but they don't have a "Disney" resort with characters or anything.

Great question. My ideal would be to give the AKL monorail access to all the parks. But then again, this would just make the AKL too popular and I wouldn't be able to get a room or afford it!

A Peter Pan resort. (I hesitate to use "Neverland". Ahem.) Treehouse rooms and rooms onboard the ship. A "London townhouse" room area. An Indian village and a Mermaid pool area. And a Tinkerbell's house for children's activities or childcare. Oh...and a First Star to the Right restaurant with a Tick-Tock lounge. All in the same "island" resort.

I dunno HOW Disney could have left this out!

with a moat, and an animatronic dragon. The dining area would be a great hall with a huge fireplace, and lots of armour and stained glass. All the CMs would be dressed in medieval/renaissance looking costumes. The rooms would have huge curtained four poster beds with down comforters, (and trundles or daybeds for families of 5!). Ideally it would be somewhere on Bay Lake with boat access to MK and the TTC.
