Sorry to be redundant, I know these have been asked before....Been to WDW many times, but new situation requires new questions from veterin visitor...

Going to WDW the day AFTER Christmas (12-26 - 1/2). I understand it's crowded...just how crowded does it get.....? Is it bearable?

Second question - usually just four of us go - bringing my kid's friend...what resort can accomodate 5 people?

Just starting to plan now, so any information would be most helpful.

Thanks

My neighbor went at that time in 03 and when she showed up the CM said "Welcome, you've come on the busiest day of the year at Disney!" LOL....so I would have to guess that it is pretty darn busy. She said it was so crowded in Fantasyland that she could barely walk and strollers everywhere. It was just elbow to elbow people according to her.

As for a great resort that can accomodate 5 ....Port Orlean's Riverside! :thumbsup2 You can get a room in Alligator Bayou that has two beds and a trundle bed. We love POR!

"Bearable" is in the eye of the beholder! But suffice it to say it will be EXTREMELY crowded.

We were there 12/29/05-1/5/06 - shoulder to shoulder crowds everywhere with MK being the worst the 29th-31st. We opted to stay out of the parks on NYE, it was just not worth it to us. We went to DTD and went shopping and then to FW for the campfire & movie.

For adults I think if you tolerate crowds it is ok. However for us with a 7 yr old who spends all day looking at the backs of people it was no fun for her. Plus with it being so crowded she got stepped on, bumped into etc. often, it was frustrating for her. We made a point to hit the really popular stuff early in the morning and spend the afternoons when it was the most crowded at the bigger parks or at our resort by the pool.

It is a very festive time of year, but we will be avoiding the Christmas - NYE week for awhile.

Depending on which park you want to go to, you might have to get an early start. Some parks will close because of capacity. :crowded:
I also would not wait too long to book your rooms, you might have a problem now.

Im assuming that you are going during that time to get the ambiance of Christmas at Disney. The Christmas celebration starts right after thanksgiving and if you go that first week it isnt very crowded at all.
