I just have to say again how much I love The Office! Last night, DD15 and I watched the episode, "The Injury", for about the tenth time. It's hilarious! :rotfl2:

"...and Ryan, who is supposed to be dead."

"I fell off the toilet! I'm in between the toilet and the wall!"

"Pam, get Pam. Get Ryan. Where's Ryan? He needs to come lift me and clean me up a little bit!"

And who can forget the Christmas episode- "YAAAAANkee Swap!"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

My favorite line from the Office ever....

"And then the other Ninja...."

From Dwight when talking about his dream date. I crack up just thinking about it... AND it didn't even make the show. Its from a deleted scene on the Season One. You really have to see that whole scene, its pure Dwight delight. You can view the full deleted scene on NBC.com under The Office and New Deleted Scenes. Its on page 2 under the title Hot Girl.

Here's another... Ryan on the Valentine's Day episode, completely distraught... "I hooked up with her on February 13." Poor guy didn't realize the implications of starting something the day before V day. I'm loving the Ryan "love" story. He's so funny. "I know what I said" fro last weeks episode cracked me up too.

I love this show too!!! The outtakes from season one have me convinced it should be an hour show!!!! In fact, if you go to "Give me my remote" site,-they have a petition you can sign to convince the network to do a one hour end-of-season show!!!!

Someone has started a discussion here about a mid-life crush on Apollo Ohno - well, I have a crush on Steve Carell - like them smart and funny!!!!!

:wizard:

That's funny. My 17 year old son is taking a media course in high school and right now they are studying sitcoms. When the class watched an episode of Office (the stapler in jello episode), the entire class booed.

I love that show. Steve Carell kills me. His character is almost too embarrsing to watch!

Its a very dry, witty show. I don't know that high schoolers would necessarily relate to the sublty of the humor, especially not having experienced alot of the office poltics and such which form the basis of it. I don't think I would have "gotten it" had I not worked with a few Micheal Scotts or Dwights in my day. Although it is my 2 college age brothers favorite show, so what do I know. :confused3 Also that episode is generally known as the worst one (it is the pilot episode, based almost word for word from the British version, the show has grown ALOT since then).

So true about the humor, however my 15 year old daughter loves this show. My older daughter, almost 22, was home on vacation last week and she brought copies of The Office with her. We couldn't get enough of this show.

I've never worked in an office setting, but I can tell you that I've come across a lot of Michaels and Dwights in the teacher's lounge. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I agree with you about the pilot episode. The show just keeps getting better and better!

I know exactly what you mean!! I can't picture anyone but Steve Carell playing the part of Michael. Michael makes you cringe, but you just have to like the guy. He tries so hard to be liked, but he's just so clueless, and so unintentionally politically incorrect.

Steve Carell is my new crush. :teeth:

My DH and I LOVE this show. We both work in a corporate office, and I actually work with a guy I call Dwight because he is EXACTLY like him. It is just to funny....I bet so many people do not pick up on all the subtle "office" humor. The main characters are great, but the supporting cast really makes the show. You also have to have an appreciation of smaller town America to really understand the show. Working in an office setting like Dunder Mifflin is a lot different in Scranton, PA then it would be in New York or LA.

My favorite episode is the one with the Fire, when they were evacuated to the parking lot. My sides hurt from laughing so hard at that one. I can't wait for the Season 2 DVD.

I want Season 2, also!

If you've never seen the original British series, go out and rent it. It's the same humor, but waaay naughtier! The creator played Steve Carrell's character on the original series...what's his name (?)...he's a comic genius!

In fact, I held off on the watching the US version because I thought it couldn't be as good..but it is! The fact that it wasn't on ruined the Olympics for me. Looking forward to Thursday.
