I know there must be some kind of "logic" in this, but I think I'm missing it..

Last week I received a post card from my electric company informing me that last night there would be an interruption in service at 11 p.m. for less than 5 minutes while they switched to a new station or something.. Okay - fine..

Last night the power was interrupted for probably 2 minutes tops and that was that..

So..... Why did they feel the need to call me at 6 a.m. this morning (automated message) to inform me that the power had been interrupted for 2 minutes last night???? :confused3

There must be some logic behind it - right? If so, what is it?? :confused3

I'm guessing in case you had to get up for work and your alarm didn't go off due to the 2 minute power outage. :confused3

In case some people didn't get the postcard and they had all set alarms prior to 11 pm for work.

:thumbsup2

See? I knew there was a logical reason - just not logical for me - because I only use a wind up clock as well as a travel battery operated clock..:goodvibes

It could be a time issue. In some states a business can only call between certain hours. If the interruption was at 11:00pm they may not have been able to call and perhaps 6:00am is the earliest they can.

This is completely a guess and I would think that if it was a legal think it would be 8:00am, not 6:00, but who knows.

I do know the reason they waited until the evening to do it is because they would never switch power off during the work day if they could help it.

It is a union, and a huge utility congolmerate. stop trying to second guess the logic. hehehhehehee
