DD will be turning 4 on the last night of our trip to WDW this May. I'm praying I'll get Cindy's for some morning during the week, but want to do something special for her for her b. day dinner. We've done the castle for dinner, and I really think she'd like something with characters instead. I just read a thread about the new Cinderella and Friends dinner at GF, and that might be fun. Any other suggestions? Obviously, somewhere where the CMs will make a big deal about her and maybe even bring her a piece of cake would be the best. I had originally considered the cookout/bbq thing at Fort Wilderness but have seen some not great reviews for it.

We have done a b-day at chef mickeys where they brought out a cupcake with a candle, and at crystal palace my DD got a card with all the characters signatures.

Thanks. Chef Mickey's will definitely be a stop during the week, but I hadn't really considered it for the b.day, but that's a good idea. Any other suggestions out there?

We did Hollywoood and Vine at Disney Studios for our daughters' birthday and she was given a balloon, a card, and a cupcake. It was a character buffet lunch with Pluto, Chip, Dale, Goofy and Minnie. The waitress even had Minnie come to our table for a special picture with our daughter while a group of waitresses sang happy birthday.(Minnie usually doesn't come to the table she stays up front signing autograph books and having pics taken with guests).

The characters are only there for breakfast and lunch. Maybe a late lunch would work.

I think the Cinderella dinner would be great. If they do birthdays at the dinner anywhere close to how they do the birthdays at the breakfast at 1900 Park Faire, it will be very special! When we were there, there was this little girl celebrating her 4th birthday, and she was dressed up like Alice in Wonderland (she appears at breakfast). The server came over with this great cupcake with the candle, and the servers all came around and sang Happy Birthday, and some of the characters who were in the vacinity joined in. It was great fun for the little girl and really fun to watch, as well.

Hope your daughter has a very special birthday!

BTW, they make a big announcement to the entire dining room that "whatever the child's name is" is celebrating his/her "whatever age the child is turning" birthday. The kids think it is absolutely the best. We have been in the restaurants where kids have had birthdays at WDW, but this is by far the best we have seen. Of course, as I said, this was at the breakfast at 1900 Park Faire, not the dinner, but I can't imagine that it would be that much different.

I just wish they would bring back the birthday lunch at MGM and the birthday parade. It was so great. You would have to buy the character lunch, go to the commissary and only those that were "celebrating their birthdays" and paid for them got it. Plenty of one to one attention with characters, photos, autographs.

After this was done, the "Birthday Guests" were then escorted to a private area and were actually put on a "Birthday Float" during the parade. It was announced as they made their way down the main street. The families went to a special designated area, towards the end of the parade, which was roped off and awaited the arrival of the birthday float.

That was the best time we had. Wish they would bring it back. Does anyone remember this parade?
