I know this has been said a million times, but every time I hear of a Disney promotion going on, it really gets to me why there's no promotions for the Fort. We're booked for 10 nights, the dining plan, tickets. It's expensive enough - I just wish they'd throw a bone to the camping people! OK - Rant's over! Have a wonderful day, fellow campers! :)

It keeps the riffraff who will do anything and step on anyone to save a couple bucks on their Disney vacation from booking up sites at the Fort and not using them.

Disney dosn't need any promos to fill the campsites. Thats why campsite are more than a room at Pop C or All Stars

The Fort is the Redheaded step child of Disney. They charge 3x$ than most campgrounds with very little for the campers. It took almost 40 years to get an updated pool. Even the cheap hotels on Disney property offer towels at the pool and have a food court at you can get food after 10pm.

Campers are a different breed, we go and are self realiant for the most part . I would bet that in no other resort do they have year to years return like the do at the Fort, why would they discount when they know it will fill to near capacity every time.

LOCATION-LOCATION-LOCATION

Over the years, besides the Fort, we have stayed at ASM, POR, and WL and I will gladly pay the extra money to bring the MH to the Fort or stay at WL. On this last visit we did some of our meals at ASM, PO, SS and WL and it reinforced our feelings. As was said campers are a different breed, thank heaven, and besides it's the only resort you can share a spot with 9 of your closest friends or bring your "furry kids".

BRING BACK MUSKET MICKEY!!!

...and we have to PAY for ICE, and don't get soap and shampoo in our showers! Why, oh why, must it be this way?!

Sleeping in my own bed and being able to bring the dog definitely makes the price palitable (sp?). Everybody would like something to be cheaper than what "it is." But, I'm just glad it's there.

I forgot about the Ice our last stay we spend about $150 just on ice

well,,it don't HAVE to be that way ,,at least if you know the mousekeepers schedules at the cabins, CART RAIDS !!:woohoo:

I have always found there to be plenty of soap in the showers. And since I have lost most of my hair, the soap doubles as shampoo.

Nice ice maker and waaay cheaper than the $300 ones at camping world.

They should give each site one set of toiletries when they check in. Shampoo, soap, lotion, just like they have in the rooms. We got new ones each day when we were at All Star. I am just asking for ONE set. I wonder if I go to the front desk and told them I forgot to pack ours if they would give us some?

And Jim, we will be there May 27-June 6. Come on by, I will let my son know to leave his soap for ya. At least then ya know who it came from. Ewwww!!! LOL

You can get a discount on Camping Sites if you have an Annual Pass. I got 20% off a premium site for my upcoming visit. I'm not sure it would be valid all year long, but it was this time!

I am currently pricing a 9 day trip in September and comparing the following:

FW water/electric only site, pay for DDP QS out of pocket
Value resort stay, no DDP (assuming possible free dining in September which has yet to be announced).

Difference in price? $30 less to stay at FW.

Now I love the Fort but by the time I pull the trailer down there, it's cheaper to do value with free dining than it is to pay for it.

Now I'm torn, still trying to decide which to do!

Thats not all! last time I was there no one made my bed for my entire stay! Of course, there were no unruly kids running around over my head at all hours of the night either.

I think Disney knows that on average about half of your meals will be at your campsite, so they gotta' find a way to make up the difference of you not eating their expensive food.

Eating at the campsite helps keep the trip cheap, plus it's food we like and know is good for us. We do eat out several times per trip though, but it's more for things like character meals or Hoop-De-Doo.

Only thing I will say to that is: you get what you pay for!

We did that last year and stayed at the All Stars...room was nasty and very small. We decided we'd pay extra anytime to have our own "bed" and "our stuff" with us...even with having free dining.

If it's a money/savings thingy,,then I would go with the value resort. If not, then do the Fort.

Year before last we did the Free Dine w/ResortRoom, we stay'd at the Carib., the room was just plain grimmy/dirty,,Denise was very upset at the front desk about the room. They sent head of house keeping and a crew,,we show'd them the filth and then left to get something to eat. Upon our return , the head of house keeping was waiting for us,,the room was Gorgeous ! Everything was clean as a whistle ! Not even any grimm on the doors or walls! New linens and comfortors,,fresh flower bouquet in the room and mousekeeping all week was awesome,:thumbsup2

Thats right, you get what you pay for,,and if I pay out good money for a room,,I let EVERYONE know when it's bad.

Now let me say this,I'll do the Fort everytime,,cept to get the free dine.
