I have about 20 pounds I have wanted to lose for about 2 years.
I get it. It's not rocket science. You have to burn more calories than you take in.
My endocrinologist tells me not to feel bad, that I probably only need 1200 calories a day and that is very hard to do in our society. She also says exercise tends to be ineffective for weight loss because we overcompensate, food-wise, for what we think we 'burned.'
My problem is that I am a very right brained, non structured person. Counting every calorie every day is like mental prison or something for me. Plus, at my workplace, I am constantly inundated with sweets. I have days that are 'good' days, where I can say no to about anything...and days that are not so good. The frustrating part is having it there to turn down, day in and day out!
So I don't lose. Fortunately I don't gain either but I'm just feeling SO overwhelmed by it today. It's not COMPLICATED, but for some reason for me that doesn't make it EASY!
