The problem is that these recent codes can only be used if you have the pin. Disney does (or has in the past) now and then released codes to the public. You can get these as they are available from places like mousesavers.com. The recent codes in these threads were by pin number invitation only, not offered to just anyone. For a few days there, CM's were treating these codes as public codes, if you could name the code, you could get the discount. But it wasn't supposed to be handled that way, so Disney clamped down hard on the CM's, and now if there is no pin attached to your name, you will not get to use that code, even if you can name it.
Your best bet for a discount is to try an AAA rate or an AP rate (if you plan to get an AP), book the room, and hope a new code comes out, then try to get them to apply the code to your room as soon as it comes available. You'll need to stay on these boards and/or mousesavers.com and call as soon as you see the code, because codes are assigned to a limited number of rooms.
There is speculation (and I repeat, speculation) that there will now be a limited amount of codes thanks to this recent code fiasco. A large number of rooms were booked for various times throughout the entire 2007 year at very low prices, so Disney may not feel it is necessary to offer any more discounts. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that will not be the case. But if Disney has partially filled all of their resorts already, and can fill up the rest with AAA & AP discounts and at rack-rate, there won't be any reason to offer any discounts. We'll just have to wait and see....
