how does one go about getting a code?:confused3 I was just quoted $4758.45 at WL courtyard view with bunk beds for 8 nights. No dining plan included. I really need to do better than that.

Ok, here is the funny thing...I have looked at that blog 3 times and I don't see a code ANYwhere. :rotfl: Oh boy, I must REALLY be destined not to know the secret......

The codes are gone now...they were there a couple of days ago but the owner must have taken them down. Wonder why? I know what code I got, but now I am trying to figure out the terms of the code.

I would suggest calling CRO and asking if you have a pin. You might have one and not know it!

can't someone just send me 3 seperate emails with words the begin with the 3 letters of the code? I want to call tomorrow and see if it will apply to me, but I would like to have it ahead of time so that I appear to be in-the-know. :rolleyes1

There really are quite a few codes out there. Which I think is what caused part of the confusion last week.
As someone suggested, call and see if there is a code attached to your name already.

Just call and see if there are any discounts you can get. Tell them you're flexible with your dates. Thats what I did when I called. I never mentioned a code. They gave me the 40% off the room.

who told me I did have a PIN, but in researching it, it's the same discounts that show online ex. 5/28-6/3 and then again in Aug til Oct. She told me there is nothing out there, nor will there be any discounts for the time frame I am looking for. This is a graduation gift for my son so I am only able to change my dates by just a couple of weeks back or ahead. It's not enough to fall into the right time frame. I did however get a AAA discount on a woods view bunk bed room at WL for $279/night. Does anyone know if that's a half way decent discount. I've never stayed there before. I know it's a crazy thought, but I really wish they offered things to people who return year after year.

DisneyObs:

You did get a discount.. just not for the travel dates you seek.

But what ARE those dates?

J

Thanks Canadianguy. I am not going to "pretend" or do anything wrong or unethical, I am just going to politely ask if I can book a package with this code. It can't hurt to ask, right?

"nor will there be any disounts for the time frame"??

The CM actually told you there definitely won't be any August discounts?? I booked my August honeymoon at AKL at rack rate a couple of days ago, and the CM seemed really positive about the odds that a discount will appear for that time period :confused3

The problem is that these recent codes can only be used if you have the pin. Disney does (or has in the past) now and then released codes to the public. You can get these as they are available from places like mousesavers.com. The recent codes in these threads were by pin number invitation only, not offered to just anyone. For a few days there, CM's were treating these codes as public codes, if you could name the code, you could get the discount. But it wasn't supposed to be handled that way, so Disney clamped down hard on the CM's, and now if there is no pin attached to your name, you will not get to use that code, even if you can name it.

Your best bet for a discount is to try an AAA rate or an AP rate (if you plan to get an AP), book the room, and hope a new code comes out, then try to get them to apply the code to your room as soon as it comes available. You'll need to stay on these boards and/or mousesavers.com and call as soon as you see the code, because codes are assigned to a limited number of rooms.

There is speculation (and I repeat, speculation) that there will now be a limited amount of codes thanks to this recent code fiasco. A large number of rooms were booked for various times throughout the entire 2007 year at very low prices, so Disney may not feel it is necessary to offer any more discounts. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that will not be the case. But if Disney has partially filled all of their resorts already, and can fill up the rest with AAA & AP discounts and at rack-rate, there won't be any reason to offer any discounts. We'll just have to wait and see....

Not quite true. It wasn't just a few days, but darned near two weeks now. I mean, yes, the code problem is supposed to be "fixed," but people have still been reporting--as late as TODAY--that they are still being allowed to use the code without a pin. Right or wrong, it is still happening. That or people are lying-which makes no sense, lol.

Yeah, and if you call again & speak to a different CM you will get a completely different answer. There is really no way to know. It is definitely a wait & see game...

I just called to get prices and mentioned one of the codes and she said a PIN is associated with it and if I didn't show it at check-in they'd charge me the regular price! Just a FYI... :sad1:

I went over the math last night and as sweet a deal as the 40% off is, and as happy as I would have been to have received it LEGITIMATELY, if my family chooses to stay at a value or moderate resort, then the free dining promotion is definately going to save us more money. And we do intend to stay at a value or moderate resort. So, I am officially "over it", and now I am waiting to see "if" (the big I-F) that promotion will even be offered this year. If not, then there is always next year. I understand that some of you can not understand the need to go only if I get a good deal, and that is ok, you dont have to get it. Last summer we decided to take the kids to the beach for the first time, my husband not being a real beach-y type. I booked mid-July and got a Kick-Butt end of the season deal! We stayed at an awesome resort, North Myrtle Beach, for 50% off rack-rate! Regular weekly price was almost $1400, and we got it for $700. Split it with my parents and it only cost us $350 for the week! It was an absolutely gorgous, immaculate 4b/4b villa and we had such a great time, everyone is waiting to go back again. If course, I won't be booking until the end-of-season discounts are offered, and if they aren't, then we won't go. Maybe some day when my kids are a little more grown and I go back to work, then price wont be so important and you will see us lounging at AKL, but for now, this is what works for me. ;)
