I Knew There Was A Reason Why I've Always Hated My Birthday - COMPLETE

Great update, this one was hilarious!! I definitely get that way too when I'm tired, hot, and hungry. Disney food and/or drinks really do help though!

That youtube video is hilarious, I'd never seen that before. It took me a second to realize the joke though :lmao:
I hate how crowds has to equal noodles! lol I love the noodle station but I can live with out it if it means there has to be crowds. I hate it when it gets that crowded too, that you feel packed in like sardines. It kinda makes it hard to enjoy the parks by then:sad2:

Glad you posted the main street pics, any pictures of main street are good because it's just so awesome:thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear more.

I am not totally caught up on your report, but had to make some comments...first, I love the hat you bought at DTD! I wish they had those when I was there in March, very cute.
Also, did you know that at T-Rex, they will only take reservations for 25% of their seating? I tried to call ahead and that is what I was told. They did guarantee we would be seated within an hour of check in.
The painful part was listening to "Smith, party of 17....." over and over for at least 40 minutes. To me, if they don't reply the first 3 times their name is called - they are out of luck! So many other groups could have sat at those tables they were holding for such a large party!
I got this chicken sammich there and it was HUGE! We sat in the ice room. It was strange to see your food change colors all the time.

Loving the TR!!! Thought I would come out of lurk town to tell you.
That presidents video is priceless, I really wish the roll call was live and given to the more satirical and comedic CMs. Is that wrong? I would love a good "unknown" thrown in there every once and a while. Maybe a hijacking is in order.
Your list of things learnt from the carousel of progress was amazing, I recently got married and from now on I am only going to refer to him as my "cracker jack prize" of a husband
I love that you turned up your nose to the high wait time at snow white... It's so hard to wait at all for rides that should be walk ons. But you almost have to walk past on principal alone, taking mental pictures of all the sweaty, tired, unhappy looking people with their tantruming kids and that determined look in their eyes that says, "we've waited this long....we can't leave now". That way when you go back in the low crowd season and ride the rides 300 times in a
row you can feel somewhat superior. Naw just kidding....maybe

Looking forward to your next installment!

Hello, friends! I hope you all had a fabulous Labor Day weekend! I certainly did because COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS BACK, BABY! :woohoo: Woooo! Go Buckeyes! In other sports news, my Indians lost to the Tigers today, so our chance of making the playoffs looks very slim. Disney, if you're reading this, we could certainly use a little bit of pixie dust right now. Or maybe the Angels in the Outfield? Your help would be much appreciated. ;)

Anyway, I will (hopefully) finish the next update and get it posted sometime in the near future. Until then, listen to Phil Collins' "Easy Lover" on repeat. That's what I'm doing right now. You can never have enough Phil Collins.

Although you totally could have kick some serious basilisk butt.
I totally could. I would make an awesome witch. Why isn't magic real?? Siiiiiigh.
Oh my gosh, I would just love to see your "Kate Gosselin and the spilled Ice Cream" meltdown, that would be pretty funny. I can hear her loud gasps in my head than "Omg, omg, omg..." LOL Moving on... Wow, it really was crowded, can't believe SWSA made it up to a 45 minute wait O.o Something's wrong there. At least you got to enjoy a nice smoothie, it looks REALLY good (:

I LOVE CoP and yeah it's so true. Unless you're a die-hard Disney fan or someone who appreciates the nostalgia that is Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress then your a newbie seeing it for the first and most likely last time. Poor little CoP :( I wish people would see how epic that ride is. It is probably the only time I hear Root Beer termed as Sasparilla lol

LOL @ your Belle duet fantasy! That was my last theater production in middle school, Beauty & the Beast, so I could just find myself randomly walking down it singing "Waking up to say... BONJOUR!" lol

That YouTube video is hilarious! I haven't even seen the show yet (shame) and I'm pretty sure I couldn't ever look at the same way again, but how did someone totally mess up the roll call? Isn't it pre-recorded like everything in Disney? That's what is really confusing me =S

Oh. My. Gosh! The Tomorrowland Noodle Station was ACTUALLY opened! *gasp* In total shock! Yeah, I guess an extremely crowded and hot day in MK does mean noodles... it is never opened otherwise. Now, I finally understand the Tomorrowland Noodle Station :teeth:

LOL @ the Harry Potter Reference. I just re-read the book. It probably would not be a good thing for the Chamber of Secrets to be open, but if that happened, it would be pretty awesome, am I right? I would have a major Potterhead moment (or whatever they call HP fans these days)! Then, I'd probably see the basilisk and become petrified myself, while everyone thought I fainted... okay, getting off-topic here.

Love the Main Street, Castle and Castle Statue Pictures! It looks so pretty with a nice bright blue sky :goodvibes

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum
I am incredibly jealous that you were part of a production of Beauty and the Beast. I <3 it. A lot.

Yeah, the Roll Call in the HoP is pre-recorded. For the YouTube video, someone just added their own audio to footage from the show. Although, if someone had actually read off those names for real, it would've been the greatest thing ever. No questions asked.

I'm actually just now reading the Harry Potter books for the first time. They are FABULOUS. I don't know why it's taken me so long to get into them, but I am so glad that I finally did.
After your warning I didn't let myself get too hopeful about this update....But it was great! I especially loved your descriptive opinions on the Hall of Presidents!
And, I totally agree that someone SHOULD buy you an elephant that flies! Then they should buy me my own magic carpet like Aladdins. Then, I could meet you in the sky (you would be flying on your elephant, and me on the carpet) and we could fly over to Disney and be first in line!
Sounds like a plan. :thumbsup2
I would really like a pet elephant too. Especially after seeing the picture of the new baby that was born at the Animal Kingdom last week. He is precious!

Baby Elephant!
I just made the most embarrassing "OHMYGOSHHE'SSOCUTE" squeeling noise. Thank goodness there isn't anyone around me right now. :rotfl:
Kara, you are very funny! I can relate to so much of what you said! Love all your pop culture reference jokes!

BTW, that delicious frosty drink that you had in your hand, was the a raspberry lemonade? If so, it can also be found in Adventureland.

I am soooo going to be singing like Belle too! I might even sit on the fountain and read a book...do you think there will be sheep??

I especially love your summary of the Hall of Presidents. You would think that even die hard Disney fans wouldn't notice a change when they refurbed that attraction but I MUCH preferred the previous video for one scene in particular. Abe Lincoln was speaking to an angry crowd who doesn't think slavery should be abolished and he was all, "oh yeah? Remember that thing called the declaration of independence? You don't agree with it? Rip it up then!" And there were all like, "Woah, woah Abe! Let's not get crazy!"
It was actually a cherry-flavored slushie, but I didn't know you could get raspberry lemonades in Adventureland so thanks for that little bit of info. Raspberry lemonades are DELICIOUS.

I certainly hope that there will be sheep. I just REALLY hope that Gaston will be out near his tavern. I want to meet him so badly!

That scene sounds amazing. I need to find video of the old show on YouTube or something.
I didn't think your update was boring at all!!!!

I am the same way when my blood sugar gets low...I go from fine to LOOK OUT in no time flat. :scared1:

I would totally be your paparazzi and take pictures of you through out the park...hey...I'd be at Disney...what do I care? :goodvibes
Yeah, it's amazing how quickly that switch flips. I'm just glad I managed to avoid a complete meltdown.

 Thanks! That's true though. If someone wanted to hire me to follow them around and take pictures, I'd totally do it.
I don't normally go during the summer, but when we went in July. the noodle station was open and it weirded me out. I'm so used to it being closed. It was totally bizarre.

I think paparazzi following you around WDW is kind of a cool idea. Who cares if you dance at random times. ;)
I typically go in July, and, even for me, it was weird to see it open. I just use it as a cut through. When there are actually people in there, it's a bit more difficult to cut through. :rotfl:

You were in a fantastic mood when you wrote this update. It pretty much made my day. (and I was not having a good day, so THANK YOU.)

I am literally in my dorm room LAUGHING right now. That's so incredibly true :lmao: I've never thought of it that way. I'm one of those who appreciate that inspirational "cheesetastic" show :worship: I have it on my iPod.

Once again.... CRACKING UP. This is why I love reading your trip reports. Because most people (including me) would just be like "then we went on the carousel of progress. next we.... blah blah blah." However... you made an intellectual conclusion. (I feel like a teacher saying that :lmao:) And it's true!! And humorous. And just what I needed today. Thank you. :rotfl:

And then the whole musical production will be performed right then and there. I will be there to watch

Of course! No one would expect that from disney! :rotfl:

I always get excited about that too!! I want to eat there at Christmas, just to say that I did. That restaurant is mind boggling to me
And hey, noodles are delicious. Perfect logic. Way to go, Disney.
Aw, I'm glad I could cheer you up with my ridiculousness.

You have the entire show on your ipod? That's dedication. I have the song, but not the entire show. I bow down at your greatness. :worship:

You won't just be there to watch, girl. I'm gonna need you to be part of it. I can't run around singing by myself. Well, I could (and would) but it will be much more entertaining this way.

Please do eat at the Noodle Station and report back to us. I really don't even know what they serve there, but I am very curious.
So I was cracking up through your entire post. My fiance kept asking me what was so funny...so I read him your list of things you learned in CoP. He didn't get the references  Obviously I have a long way to go with him.

2 other comments: I now totally want to walk through Belle's village singing that song, that would be awesome. And I will never be able to watch HoP again without thinking of them all reuniting on Oprah. Thanks for that.

Now off I go to watch the YouTube video!
Aw, he'll learn, dear. He'll learn. Just gotta keep brainwashing him. :rotfl:
Oh girl, this update had me crackin' up!

Every time we're over by the Carousel and Tink's shop, we always have to point out that this is where Mady had her meltdown.

I cannot wait for the whole Beauty & the Beast part to open!! It's my favorite movie.

I loved your version of the HoP.
Oh, Mady...I cannot wait for the day when she's old enough to write a juicy tell-all book because you just know that she will. That girl feeds off of drama. I will gladly pay $15 to read all of the Gosselin family's dirty little secrets.

Evidently I feed off of drama as well...
I think this update is totally worth it!

Good call on taking a break. 45 mins. for Snow White!? No freakin' way would I wait that long for that.

Mmmmmm I  that popcorn. It IS pure magic.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Why are you SO funny. I just gained a complete new respect for the Carousel of Progress. So thank you. :rotfl2:

I am SO excited for the new Fantasyland!!!

I am that super lazy kid too. I wouldn't say my grades are amazing though. I do okay for myself haha.

HAHAHA that video is HILARIOUS. And now I have a new respect for the Hall of Presidents now LOL. "Unknown" "Charlie Angel" I'm dying. :rotfl:

My sister wants a pet elephant too, literally.

Maybe when it's crowded they give you noodles because they are a source of immense comfort. :cloud9:

Hahaha a basilisk would have put a damper on things. "You murdered my cat." "You'll be next mudbloods!" Ahhh Tom Felton... :lovestruc I digress...

I like the lady walking sideways on Main Street. Honey, you're gonna get trampled like the TSM dash on a Saturday morning at DHS rope drop. Poor kid.
I'm glad I could open your mind up to the wonders that are CoP and HoP. They are both such hilarious experiences. I mean, most people are just like "BO-RING" but they can be such fun if you let them.

My favorite part of that HoP video is when the guy just clears his throat and then they move on to the next president. I completely lose it every single time.

That's a great explanation. Noodles are extremely comforting. Those crowds can definitely be quite terrifying.

Tom Felton and Rupert Grint's "bromance" is like my new favorite thing. Whenever I'm in a bad mood, I look at pictures and smile. They are both flawless.
Great update, this one was hilarious!! I definitely get that way too when I'm tired, hot, and hungry. Disney food and/or drinks really do help though!

Disney food is like magic. It's impossible not to be happy when you're eating Disney food. And, during my vacations, I'm eating Disney food a lot so....

That is very true. I could stare at pictures of Main Street allllll day.
Loved the entire update... especially your musings on CoP - SO true!!! :rotfl:
Thanks. :goodvibes

I knew that they didn't fill the entire restaurant with reservations, but I didn't know that it was only 25%. That's kinda strange. I guess they need to leave a few restaurants that cater mainly to walkups though. :confused3

Ugh, that would be awful. I can't believe they would hold that many tables for so long. Maybe one of the waiters just wanted a break. :rotfl:
Loving the TR!!! Thought I would come out of lurk town to tell you.

Welcome! :goodvibes

I agree, a live Roll Call would be amazing. Clearly I need to apply for the College Program, demand to work at the Hall of Presidents, and ask to make a few changes every once in awhile. HoP can be the new Jungle Cruise.

Yeah, I refuse to wait in a 45 minute line for that. It's just not worth it. I do not understand why people continued to get in line. I kinda felt like yelling "YOU'RE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE!" at them.

In other sports news, my Indians lost to the Tigers today, so our chance of making the playoffs looks very slim. Disney, if you're reading this, we could certainly use a little bit of pixie dust right now. Or maybe the Angels in the Outfield? Your help would be much appreciated. ;)

I hear ya, sister. We really needed to win this one, so of course, we didn't.

Here's hoping for that pixie dust.

I LOVE that part. Kills me. :rotfl:

OMG. Me. Too. Tom and Rupert are SO precious. They always cheer me up. Rupert and his ice cream vans. :lovestruc LOVE him.

JULY 3RD PART FOUR: Crystal Palace
When I last left off, we were drenched in sweat and meandering around Main Street surrounded by a bajillion other people who were also drenched in sweat. Things were a tad…moist. Thankfully, it was time for us to head over and check in for our dinner reservations at…
178.jpg

The Crystal Palace! :yay:

I was really looking forward to this meal. Despite the fact that I’ve been going to WDW since I was 4 years old, this was our first ever character meal. I know, right? It’s shocking. You’d think that a Disney-obsessed family like ours would be dying to dine with characters, but we never really were. Well, I was always open to it, but no one else really wanted to.

I guess, in a weird sort of way, it was fitting that my first character meal came during my 21st birthday trip. I’m a full-blown adult in every sense. I can drink, I can gamble, I can rent a car, and I can dine with gluttonous bears, overenthusiastic tiggers, depressed donkeys, and anxiety-laden little pigs. ;)

There were a bunch of people hanging out in front of the restaurant, so Mom went solo to check in and the rest of us found a bench on the porch that runs along the building.
179.jpg

Here’s the view from our bench:
180.jpg

It’s so pretty. And the porch was so shady. I could have sat out there for hours. The Castle show was going on and there was an adorable little girl on the sidewalk below us dancing her heart out. She was following along with the dancers and I wanted nothing more than to go down and join her. Then, I realized that her parents might find an incredibly sweaty (2 days from) 21 year-old rushing down to dance with their daughter a bit creepy, so I stayed put.

I can’t remember exactly, but I’m pretty sure we were given one of those light-up buzzer thingies that managers at chain restaurants love so much when Mom checked us in. It went off shortly after I decided not to go dance with the adorable Disney-loving child. If I’m remembering incorrectly and we didn’t have a buzzer, then someone came out and called us over, but I really do think it was a buzzer.

Regardless, it was time to head into the restaurant, so that is what we did.

182.jpg

This photo's not great, but I loved how bright and cheery the restaurant is. All of the natural light is wonderful.

I had kind of forgotten about this, but we indicated that we were celebrating my birthday on all of our dining reservations. So, when we arrived at our table, we found this:
183.jpg

Mickey-shaped confetti!

I love that stuff. I wound up playing with it throughout the meal. It’s just so fun!

Again, I am the worst (2 days from) 21 year-old ever. I completely understand if the other way cooler 21 year-olds want to shun me.

Here’s the view from our table:
194.jpg

Our server was an adorable older woman, but I can’t remember her name! I really wish I had written it down or something because she deserves 100 high-fives. She was that awesome. Anyway, she took our drink orders (ice water with lemon, for me) and told us all about the buffet. She also said that while the characters would be around shortly, we had just enough of a window to head to the buffet, so that’s what we did.

The buffet was filled with many scrumptious-looking foods. I’m often guilty of cramming everything (literally EVERYTHING) onto my plate, but this time I decided to pace myself. We were planning on staying in the park until after the special 4th of July (on the 3rd) fireworks, so I thought it would be best not to eat a ridiculous amount of food and feel sick for the rest of the night.

Here’s my first plate:
184.jpg

Starting from the roll and going clockwise we have: a roll (obviously), some sort of yummy pasta salad, some sort of yummy couscous, garlic mashed potatoes, and Mediterranean chicken with a huge chunk of feta cheese.

It was all wonderful. The dishes that were supposed to be warm were warm, and the dishes that were supposed to be cold were cold. I’m a HUGE mashed potato fan (Well, I’m a fan of potatoes in general really) and these did not disappoint. They were divine.

I didn’t take pictures of everyone’s plates (I didn’t want to scare Wade on the first day with an ‘OMG LET ME PHOTOGRAPH YOUR FOOD’) but Dad was sitting next to me (and ate a good variety of food) so I took pictures of his as well.

Here’s Dad’s first plate:
185.jpg

From the top: a roll with a slice of bread underneath it, salad, fruit salad, giant hunks of pineapple, and peel and eat shrimp with cocktail sauce.

Dad ate it all, so I’m assuming everything was good.

While we were devouring our first plates, Eeyore stopped by to say ‘hello’. He’s so adorably bummed out.
186.jpg

It was Wade’s first character encounter. I think it went pretty well. I mean, he didn’t run away screaming or anything so…

Once we all joined the Clean Plate Club (voluntarily…no one was standing over our shoulders demanding that we finish all of our food…though that would cut down on waste), it was time to head back to the buffet. I wanted some prime rib and I wanted it badly. There wasn’t much of a line during our first trip, but this time the buffet was crowded. Luckily, the woman in front of me was hilarious, so we bonded while waiting. I guess us hilarious people are just drawn to each other.

Anyway, here’s my second plate:
187.jpg

It’s a tad bit boring, just prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes, and fire-roasted corn spoon bread, but it was all DELICIOUS. If you ever dine at Crystal Palace you must, MUST try the spoon bread. It is beyond amazing.

Here’s Dad’s second plate:
188.jpg

Everything is piled up in a giant heap, but from what I can make out, there are some mashed potatoes, prime rib, mussels, rice, Mediterranean chicken, and a chicken nugget.

Dad also had a third plate:
189.jpg

It looks to be bread, turkey, a meatball (‘cause who doesn’t put a meatball on top of their turkey?), fruit, and the spoon bread.

Again, he ate it all, so I’m assuming it was good.

For dessert, I opted for some chocolate ice cream with sprinkles.
190.jpg

You’re probably thinking “Gosh, Kara, way to be lame and not try any of the fancy desserts offered” but the fact of the matter is that I am an ice cream addict. Very rarely does a day go by without me eating ice cream of some sort. I should probably join a support group. Anyway, the ice cream was wonderful. It was very cold (almost icy) but still wonderful.

Here’s Dad’s dessert plate:
191.jpg

There’s a bowl of ice cream that looks freaking perfect (apparently Dad worked at an ice cream shop in another life) and raspberry cheesecake. I’m sure it was delicious.

While we were eating dessert, Piglet stopped by our table. I love him. That’s probably because I am him. I’m anxious, worried, and afraid of just about everything. Also, I got mad sun burn during the trip and turned bright pink. So, yeah, we’re basically twins…

I really do not know why I’m posting this picture, because it’s absolutely horrid, but I’m doing it anyway.
193.jpg

This is what happens when both parents are taking pictures at the same time and one of them is terrible with technology. Also, I’m sure I broke a bunch of etiquette rules by wearing my hat during a meal (I’m sorry Countess LuAnn) but my hair was an absolute mess. Sometimes summer is just the worst.

After Piglet left, our server brought out a special birthday cupcake for me. She lit it and instructed everyone around us to sing ‘Happy Birthday’. It was really sweet of her. Fun story: when I was younger, I used to cry hysterically and run out of the room anytime someone tried to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to me. For some reason, I found having the whole ‘everyone stop what you’re doing and start singing just to me’ thing absolutely mortifying. It’s weird because I wasn’t an extremely shy kid or anything. Heck, I’ve been dancing for most of my life. I have no problem performing in front of hundreds of people. But having people sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to me? Absolute disaster.

Thankfully, I grew out of that and didn’t run out of the restaurant. I did, however, turn red and giggle uncontrollably. I can’t help that.

I blew out the candle, made a wish, and snapped a quick shot of the cupcake before digging in.
192.jpg

Of course, by ‘digging in’, I really mean ‘eating one bite before passing it over to Dad’. It was wonderful, but I was full.

Tigger came to our table next and I was incredibly excited. He pointed at my birthday button, jumped up and down, and gave me a HUGE hug and kiss. If it were legal to marry giant orange furry creatures, I would’ve done it right there on the spot.
195.jpg

The ‘willy, nilly, silly old bear’ himself, Winnie the Pooh, came over to our table while our fabulous server was scanning our Keys to the World or whatever it is that they do for the dining plan. Pooh, like Tigger, was very cuddly.
053.jpg

After Pooh left, our server brought the Keys to the World back and we made sure to thank her a million times. She really was wonderful. Then, we gathered our belongings (Literally…whenever we dine, stuff winds up all over the table) and headed out.

Overall, this meal was an enjoyable experience. The food was yummy and the characters were a lot of fun. Is it a must-do? No, not at all. Would we come back? Definitely. :upsidedow

I’ll leave you with photos of a couple of the topiaries:

UP NEXT: I really hate being terrible at things.

You've never had a character meal before?!

Oh honey, you've been so deprived. :lmao:

I'm glad that the food was good and that the characters were cuddly. That's always a plus. It's great that you had such an awesome server.

At least you can say that you had a character meal BEFORE you turned 21. ;)

Oh my gosh this is wonderful - so many people updated today! I am so so sooooo happy :goodvibes
YOU'RE FIRST CHARACTER MEAL!? NO WAYY! Well, Crystal Palace is a nice place to go for your first one!
I think you're the coolest 21 year old ever for playing with mickey confetti. Two Thumps up for you :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
Yay for a good waitress!
Hahaha I am EXACTLY the same way with buffets... I get a little too excited :rotfl: Pacing myself is something I really need to work on.
Aww Katie and Wade and Eeyore :lovestruc So precious.

"a meatball (‘cause who doesn’t put a meatball on top of their turkey?)"
I found this incredibly funny.. just so you know :rotfl: haha i'm so tired right nowww.

YOU'RE AN ICE CREAM ADDICT TOO!?!? hahaha so am i!!! I eat it like.. every day. And I work at an ice cream place. and i love my job. Soooo I COMPLETELY understand. (ps... very nice work with the soft serve machine. it's harder than it looks to make the ice cream look pretty!

That cheesecake IS delicious. It's my favorite dessert there!
haha that's so funny about your younger self being mortified by happy birthday  you crack me up.
LOL tigger is such a flirt. I love him.
I'm glad you had fun! What a great dinner!

I have a thing about the word "moist"...:upsidedow

I can't BELIEVE that's your first character meal! Deprivation... ;)

Don't you hate that those kinds of things would be considered creepy? I would want to do the same thing! :goodvibes

I love the light in that restaurant! It's so cheerful, I agree. Natural light and sunshine are the best. I need to move South. :P

I always take some of the confetti with me. :thumbsup2

Mmmmmmn everything looks SOO good. I love Crystal Palace!!

Yes hilarious people are drawn to each other! And you my dear are DARN funny.

I LOVE icy ice cream! It's the best. You're like Jess though. LOL. She is also obsessed with ice cream. I've developed a much greater love for it since I've been friends with Jess.

YUM. I love that cheesecake. Aw you all look precious. I love the pics.

TIGGER. <3

Great update! I'm hungry now lol. When's dinner...?

I know. I don't know how I made it (almost) 21 years without one.

Aw, thanks. I'm glad someone thinks I'm cool.

Yeah, if I didn't have to walk around the hot, crowded parks for hours after eating, I probably would have stuffed myself silly. But I figured better safe than sorry, y'know? :thumbsup2

YAY! I love you, fellow ice cream addict! In high school, I really wanted to work at an ice cream place, but then I became terrified that I would start hating ice cream and it just wasn't worth it. I'm glad to know that you can do both. :cutie:

Tigger IS such a flirt. Not gonna lie, I kind of enjoyed it. I was feeling a little left out since Katie had Wade, so it was like 'Yay! Attention!' I should have slipped him my number or something :rotfl:

Moist is one of those words that cracks me up half of the time and completely grosses me out the other half.

I need to move South as well. It seems like Ohio is dreary and depressing 99.99% of the year.

I'm glad Jess has exposed you to the wonderfulness that is ice cream. It is simply the best.

Gosh, I'm starving right now too! Writing about ice cream isn't helping. I really need to eat.

Great update and a :thumbsup2 for me getting your Countess reference! :upsidedow I'll be 29 in less than a week and I refuse to grow out of things like playing with Mickey shaped confetti whilst celebrating my birthday (or any other day). I have to believe that if I stay young at heart, I'll remain young forever

Totally agree with you on the word 'moist', kind of grosses me out yet I probably use it way more than what is necessary.
So happy you have entered the wonderful world of character dining! Your special moment with Tigger makes it all worth while!
Ice cream is the greatest. I swear Disney ice cream is too amazing. I find myself thinking about it way too much
Your dad has made a very impressive ice cream swirl...maybe he could work in the ice cream shop, then you could have easy access without being the one that gets overly exposed on a day to day basis haha
Looking forward to the next chapter :thumbsup2

Yay, I'm glad I'm not the only Real Housewives fan. I'm obsessed with that show. They could make a Real Housewives of the Moon and I would watch it.

Happy Birthday!!! :yay:

I'm the same way. I use annoying words way more often than a person who finds them annoying probably should. I think it's probably because annoying words tend to be incredibly fun to say. They're annoying to hear, but fun to say.

That is an excellent idea. I will suggest it to my Dad. :thumbsup2

Oh my God. I was just going through this thread trying to figure out the last chapter I read and I saw that someone posted Stacey's facebook. I don't even have a facebook but inwardly I was like YESSSSSSSSSSSS because I knew it would provide hilarity. I was correct, because as soon as you go to her main page, there is a graphic that of course includes the same exact photo we see in her profile pic, with her name (which also is shown on the top of the page) and at the top of the graphic it says CLICK LIKE with an arrow pointing to the like button. Do people really not know that you need to click like, or...? Stacey never fails to amuse. I just love that woman is what I'm saying. I actually watched her reels on youtube not too long ago and they are actually really good (most people's reels are AWFUL) and she is a good host. She acts way less nuts when she's not at Disney World, but I mean, I think we all do.

OK, onto your updates!

July 3rd Pt 2 update:

OMG, disembark and motor coach are like my favorite words EVER. I try and say disembark ALL the time in my normal life because it's just one of those words that I feel is never really said and that's sad. It's just so Disneyish and I need to hear it more often.

CRACKING UP at the mental image of a family arriving via scuba. You are hilarious.

I'm happy they took a long time to search you, cause ugh. As someone who is NYC very very often I am constantly paranoid about evil people doing unspeakable things and Disney needs to be more thorough!! Obviously, you are not one of these evil people but I just hope everything they claim about having all of these super security measures that the public doesn't even know about b/c they are TOP SECRET are true.

The Happy Birthday Guy sounds awesome and hilarious! Love that!

I love the Pirates queue. At one point there's just a random table and chairs which I find so hilarious for some reason, like why is it there? Disney rarely just leaves stuff like that lying around, you'd think it would have some skulls and treasure around it or something, but nope it's just a fake wooden table and chairs. I really need to find the pics my mom and took sitting at it because we just thought it was so funny and acted really ridiculous.

It is most definitely both splashy and mountainy. < WELL SAID

July 3rd part 3 Update:

Oh my God, Kate Gosselin. I know we have discussed this before but omg. Did you see the pizza thing? I will just never get tired of watching her yell at people. It's wonderful and I will miss that show (mostly b/c of the yelling and Alexis, but the other kids are cool too). I really have missed Jon's "I want to die, I really am going to kill myself in five minutes" faces though, so I guess I can understand why the ratings have gone down. Le sigh.

Carousel of Progress is even more hilarious for me because EVERY TIME my dad would have to point out all the old stuff in it that he used to have in his house. He's on the older side, so he actually had an ICE BOX. And he'd just start telling me stories about it in the middle of the ride. And I would be like, um... I can't believe you are this excited by a fake ice box on a Disney ride. I guess anything that connects us to our childhood induces a lot of excitement, though, even if it's just a box of ice.

HAH omg, an Illuminati reference? Oh, you. I hate when I throw in a joke about the Illuminati into normal conversation and no one knows what I'm talking about. Like, sorry you don't know about anything and I am brilliant, but that was funny.

If Oprah did that president episode she would STILL have Johnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Traaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavollllllllllllltaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa on. I just know it. I mean, he has to be president of something. Maybe not the US, but come on, it's John Travolta. President of groovy dancing in musicals? I'm avoiding the obvious Scientology jokes because 1.) I love John and 2.) i don't think you can joke about the Illuminati AND Scientology in one sitting or else you'll be tracked and killed.

I've never done the Hall of Presidents. One of the only attractions I can say that about. It seems great, but not compared to like... the mountains. So I've never found myself there. Maybe next trip.

LOVE this pic http://i828.photobucket.com/albums/zz204/LittleMissCynic/July 2011 - Trip Report/157.jpg

I will be your personal paparazzi photographer as long as you buy me unlimited Mickey shaped foods. That is all I ask!!!!!!!!

Crowds = noodles LOL. Yeah, it's never open when I'm there cause there are always like five people in the park when I'm there and they don't feel the need to provide us with noodles! ***! They also don't feel the need to provide us with Drew Carey-themed attractions, though, which I appreciate.

THANK GOD THERE ARE HARRY POTTER REFERENCES IN THIS TRIP REPORT NOW BC FRANKLY I WAS STARTING TO WORRY. Congrats, your TR is now officially quality. Not that it wasn't before, but everything involving Harry Potter is completely free of all flaws.

I LOVE this pic as well! You have an eye for interesting angles - i've never seen a pic of that spot from that angle before. Well done! http://i828.photobucket.com/albums/zz204/LittleMissCynic/July 2011 - Trip Report/172.jpg

July 3rd Part 4

That is too funny that your first character meal was at age 21. I LOVED it when I was little but I kind of hate it now. I love food and I just want to stuff my face and it's weird when Anastasia and Drizella come up to me and start carrying on. Like, I know it's your job to be annoying but I'm hungry.

You most likely did have a buzzer. The thing I don't like about them is that they aren't Mickey shaped. They need to be much more Disneyish.

I don't understand your plates. The food isn't piled up to the ceiling and none of it is falling off which I find weird. I clearly do not have self control when it comes to buffets as you may know from the Boma chapter in my TR. This pacing yourself thing you speak of seems curious and not a good idea to me. Food is worth ruining everything for so the whole getting sick thing really doesn't apply to me either. Hmm.

I miss Crystal Palace now! We used to do the character breakfast all the time when I was little but never the lunch/dinner. I made an ADR for it last time but we ended up going to Le Cellier b/c that is where they keep the Cheddar Cheese Soup and I think we all know how I feel about THAT.

Whew. Done! Can't wait for more. :hippie:

Just found your TR and I'm joining in! It's been great so far. I can't believe that was your first character meal!
