I almost missed the beginning of Saturday's game. I like the way the players all greeted one another before the game.....
The girls team from California that was staying in the same hotel as us did the same thing......
Brian was on D.......
I didn't take a lot of player pics at the game. As you might recall, we tied 0 to 0. The girls won their game! So we were happy for them because they were a nice group of girls and parents.
At half time I started taking random pictures.....
This was the tournament T-shirt..... gotta love a T-shirt with a guitar!
The venue.....
I always feel like I'm in the south when I see this grocery store......
This cute girl was a friend or sister of one of the girls on the California team. Brian was pleased when he scored her phone number.
Whenever I see this picture I automatically start singing, "I wish they all could be California girls". IMHO - She epitomizes the look of a California girl. I actually didn't realize this was the girl Brian liked until after I took the picture. I just shot her while taking random pictures.
Then I got into one of my moods where I start taking weird pictures.......
Honestly, who dresses like that when its a bajillion degrees out?
Someone needs a haircut!
Uhm...this next picture is actually my sneaker....I thought the guitar print just screamed Nashville. Clearly the heat was starting to get to me if I was taking pictures of my sneaker.
As soon as the game was over Denny, Nick, and I jumped in the car to start a trek back east. We had decided to drive back to the same hotel we had stayed in Sieversville, TN. I really wanted to see the Smokey Mtns, even if it was just for a couple hours.
Little did I know that a certain town would be a traffic mecca.....
Pigeon Forge - home of Dollywood and TRAFFIC! Our hotel was only about 5 or 10 miles from Pigeon Forge and 18 miles from the Smokey's visitor center (one of the many). However, the traffic getting there proved to be a bit of a challenge. Not as bad as the OBX traffic, but close!
When we finally hit Pigeon Forge it became a 3 lane highway and the traffic moved slightly faster. I seriously had no idea that Pigeon Forge was such a tourist mecca in a weird, over-the-top, tourist trap sort of way.
