I Kicked it I Played it and now..Wheeling & Dealing at the WL final 9/9 p87/88

Boo to last day funk!! But you are going to be going back so soon!!!! I can't wait to hear all about that trip!!!

Once again amazing pictures!! LOVE THEM!!

I'm finally caught up on your report.

I loved your private tour of the WL. What a special treat. The pictures from the roof are priceless. My DH loves scenic pictures so I made him look. He would love to have the opportunity to see those scenes in person but not ready to put out the bucks to stay there yet. I finally got him to stay at a moderate our last trip.

I can understand your DH's position. I didn't stay at any of the deluxes until we joined DVC. I just couldn't justify the expense when the moderate resorts are so great.

But the beauty of this tour is anyone can take it. Its open to everyone. You don't have to be a WL guest.

You've gotten a pretty good list so far for eats and drinks so I don't really have anything to add. Although since you're eating at Y&Y I do suggest the Mango pie for dessert. Both Michelle and I got it and loved it. And yes, do get some beignents. Danielle could have eaten those every morning.

.

I just saw a picture of the mango pie on someone's TR....was it yours???? I am getting confused. Anyway - it looked delish, so it going on the list.

Looking forward to more on Tenn and OBX.

I wanted to add more tonight, but I really have to change the strings on my guitar which takes me way longer than it should cause I have the strange fear of getting hit in the face with a string. Weird, I know. :rolleyes1

I’m so sorry about your last day funk! Booo! I hope you were able to enjoy some of it!

Your lodge pictures are amazing! I love them! The pictures from the plane are beautiful!

I did enjoy it, I just had a couple hours of the funk. I am glad you like the lodge pictures. I had a blast taking them.

I
Oh man, what can I add to your list?!

I definitely agree that you have to try a Lapu Lapu! C is right, it is strong BUT it’s delish! YUMMY! You can’t go wrong with a drink in pineapple and an umbrella on top ;)
Definitely stop in one morning for some Kona Coffee from the coffee bar at Poly! It’s such a great way to kick off a WDW day!

DH is a big fan of the Moroccaritas in Morocco!

I’ll definitely try to think of more! ;)

I really want to try the Kona coffee. I remember you talking about how amazing it is.

Another vote for the Lapu Lapu. :thumbsup2 Moroccaritas - I love that name, so I would have to love that drink! Morocco sounds like a great place to stop for a drink. Who knew?

I appreciate that! I'm glad you have been able to get others at 7 months, that's probably what we'd do too. We are really considering SSR now. DH called and talked with someone at timeshare store and got some more info, so now we will be getting the emails. There will be times we go during peak seasons, so we will be conscious of the fact that we may not get other resorts and have to be happy with whatever we buy. At first we're going with low points, so we may only go every other year, or shorter trips and stay where the point usage is lower, like SSR. So it makes sense.

I called for WL exactly at 7 months exactly at 0900 hours when the lines first opened up. I was pretty excited to get it. Jen had no trouble getting our BLT reservation for September (she also owns at SSR).

I will tell you that the first two weeks of December book up FAST!!!!! But the third week of December stays open and January is pretty well open.

I really like SSR. I think its pretty, airy, had great parking, and has nice furnishings. I could see myself staying there for Disney and non-Disney trip alike. It has a lot of appeal for me. That's why I bought it. But I am also the kind of person who likes to try all the resorts so I am still looking forward to trying OKW, BCV, and BWV. I also want to try HH and I loved Vero,

Good luck with your purchase. There are some great prices out there now. A lot lower than when I bought mine in fall 07.

Once again amazing pictures!! LOVE THEM!!

The last day funk was not all the great, but fortunately it was short lived.

Glad you like that pics. The roof tour was so fun!

It was covered in figurines and religious quotes.:confused3

OK - I couldn't resist posting this picture. Weezy26nm allowed me to take it from her TR because it is such a hoot!!!! They saw this in Orlando on the way to Seaworld.

You all know I love crazy pictures and Shocker hasn't been around for awhile, so I had to find a crazy pic on my own. Take that Shocker! Wham!

Last day funk...I hate that!

My new find on this last trip was the huge slab of toffee you can get at most of the candy-type shops (MS confectionary, goofy's, etc) I suggest you buy a couple and bring them home to enjoy their pixie dust after the trip is over!

Great idea. Adding toffee to the list now!:thumbsup2

I know its been awhile since I updated info about my TN trip. When I left off last it was Friday July 9th and we were touring the broadway section of Nashville. There were bars and restaurants everywhere. Many of them were restricted to people over 21. I had seen a restaurant with live entertainment that I wanted to stop in for dinner. But instead of finding my way to the live entertainment restaurant, I found myself here.......look familiar.......

IMG_5876-1.jpg

I honestly thought I was going back to the original restaurant I wanted to stop in, but my Disney senses must have pulled me back to the Big River Grille. I didn't even realize where I was until I was inside.

So, did you all know that there was a Big River Grille in Nashville? Neither did I!

We started with the beer sampler.....

IMG_5879-1.jpg

I actually picked one to drink with Denny, but heck if I can remember which one. I'm actually shocked I took a picture of this.

Then we shared nachos......

IMG_5881-1.jpg

These were pretty good. Not the best ever, but definitely worth having again. If they are the same at WDW then the get my recommendation.

For dinner Nick and I split the steak fajitas. They plated them so we each got our own serving......

IMG_5882-1.jpg

Denny had the chalupas.....

IMG_5883-1.jpg

Our food was just eh. Nothing special. The night before we ate at this wonderful place called Jim & Nick's. It was GREAT, so no meal other than a 4 star restaurant was going to compare.

Full from beer and food we skipped dessert. Instead we headed out to see more sights on broadway. We were tempted to take a ride in one of these.....

Who doesn't like a sign like this?.....

IMG_5888.jpg

Then something a little bizarre happened. The amish people or 7th day adventists or some group started handing out literature........They certainly had a message to get out.....

IMG_5904.jpg

IMG_5903.jpg

IMG_5902.jpg

Now these guys were on one corner and right across the street was........

IMG_5901.jpg

He was clearly high on something, standing shirtless with his pants on his hips dancing to some imaginary tune. What a sight!

So what happens when you cross this.....

with this......

I was glad I wasn't on that corner.....

Time to move on and see the rest of broadway.....

IMG_5921.jpg

IMG_5923.jpg

These were actually painted on a large guitar.....

We stopped in the Hilton for a bio break on our way back to the parking lot. Nicholas had to ride the glass elevator in the lobby,,,,,,

I found some hidden mickeys in the lobby....

We had a blast touring Nashville. Next up Saturday July 10th - We watch Sat's soccer game and depart back to the Smokey Mtns.

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I guess not everyone appreciates your great pictures like we do.

Great update. I'm enjoying your TN trip report and glad you came back to finish it.

Okay, I about spewed my tea when I saw the picture of the shirtless guy and the Amish people together on the same street corner!!! The things you see in the big city! :lmao:

I gotta tell you - I did not realize his pants were that low until I posted the picture! :scared1:

Dang, she didn't want her picture taken, did she??? :rotfl2:[

If you were dressed like that would you want your picture taken? :rotfl2: Oh that's cruel, but I couldn't help it. :rolleyes1

:

They obviously don't have the same non-smoking laws we have here in Maryland! :lmao:

Apparently not!

You can find a little bit of Disney anywhere! :thumbsup2

Isn't it great?! :goodvibes

:lmao::lmao::lmao: I guess not everyone appreciates your great pictures like we do.

No.....No they don't! :rotfl: I felt a little bit bad taking their picture, but I figured it was a public street in a tourist town so they were fair game!

Great update. I'm enjoying your TN trip report and glad you came back to finish it.

Was there ever a doubt????? :thumbsup2

Okay, I about spewed my tea when I saw the picture of the shirtless guy and the Amish people together on the same street corner!!! The things you see in the big city! :lmao:

You gotta love that dichotomy! It was awesome! I actually didn't know they had Amish people in TN. We have them here in Lancaster County, PA, but I guess the live in a lot of states. Imagine that?

I just love your pictures of Nashville! I never had any desire to visit there, but now I do. :rotfl: You should work on their tourism board! ;) The pictures of Broadway are just so cool - I would love to see it someday with my own two eyes.

The bit between the no shirt guy and the Amish had me laughing!!! And WHOA! that is quite the look from that woman!!!! I love that you captured it!!

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

I think the shirtless guy was posing for you at the end. It looks like he was looking right at you.

I could be wrong but I believe the Amish have a strong objection to having their picture taken. :confused3 But they were on a public street corner.

Looks like a fun trip! :upsidedow

Another wonderful, but slighty crazy update!! I just laughed when I saw the shirtless guy mixing in with the amish on the street corner!! What a sight to behold!!!!!!

Once again some great pictures!!!!

I would go back to Nashville in a heartbeat. I loved it. So much energy, but not overwhelming. Friendly and eclectic.

Oh yeah - my stealth moves with the camera had me all over that combo! :rotfl:

Shirtless guy looks like he knew you were taking his picture and is posing for you :rotfl:

I think you are right - he is looking right at me. Again, my stealth moves with that camera (not) caught him by surprise!

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Oh yeah - he was definitely looking at me. Everyone was looking at me until I put that camera down.

You are probably right. I should know that because I live close to Amish country, but I guess I am confused because Lancaster County tries so hard to capitalize on the Amish inhabitants.

.

Looks like a fun trip! :upsidedow

It really was a fun trip. so glad we decided to go!

Yes, it was a bit of a crazy update. Something you probably WOULD NOT see at Disneyworld. Couldn't resist photographing it! Glad you are still enjoying my pictures!

Or maybe they are closet country music fans... :lmao:

:rotfl2: You're right - Maybe those signs about the end of the world coming are just a prop so they can go hang outside the bars!

Seriously though, that takes a lot of guts to walk around with those signs and talk to people.

Your pictures and your commentary have me cracking up this morning. Oh my goodness. :rotfl2::lmao:

Not exactly what you expected on the Disboards, heh?

I've heard that the Amish don't like to be photographed too. I guess she was showing that!
We spent a couple days in Nashville pre-kids and really liked it. I don't even like country music, but it is a cool city! Most of the people we encountered were really quite nice and other than the twang, reminded us of people from MN. The city is a lot like St. Paul in terms of size, so we were quite comfortable roaming around.

I want to thank you for your tips etc. re: DVC. We just had an offer accepted on a Vero Beach 50 pt. contract!! Looks like we'll be joining the club! Oh my gosh! :cheer2:

Congratulations!!!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1: I've actually had my eye on a couple VB contracts. Definitely tempting. Then there's this 130pt SSR contract I have my eye on. I bought 200 pts originally and I really want another 100. Everytime i see a great loaded 100 pt March use year contract its gone before I can get it.

Welcome to the club. All I can say is I love DVC. No regrets whatsoever!

OMG - was she ever?

I'm not crazy about country music, but the actual studio musicians on country albums are fantastic. And I would love to see Carrie Underwood - she's just so darn cute. I loved the town. It is definitely an "all type of music" town nowadays.
