I keep reading terrible comments about Coral Reef.

we have been 3 times over last 6 years and never had a bad meal yet, i'm not a great seafood eater and have had the steak and chicken and been no problems, been at most levels and got good view of tank, only parties of 4 can get next to the tank, i'm going to ask beginning of the day if we can get there, i'll let you know in two weeks:banana:

Thanks Kingken....everyone has been very helpful with their suggestions and comments. I wish I could say that it has made it easier for me to decide. Biergarten looks pretty fun too and who doesn't love a polka. I will probably keep my ADR at CR though...if anything because of the Aquariums and the restaurants location to where we will be spending our time during that part of the day. Biergarten is a hike for the little ones.

Free DDP does make it less stressful about making a bad decision on a meal.

We had a very good experience at the Coral Reef. It's a great restaurant with a really cool theme.

I did a small write up with some pictures of the restaurant and food in my trip report here.

It wasn't extraordinary, but it was very enjoyable. We will definitely be going back.

We ate at Coral Reef a few months ago. While we weren't seated right in front of the tank, we did have a nice view from the second level.

I had read horror stories about the service, but we had an excellent waiter. The food was okay, but we really enjoyed the chocolate wave for dessert.

My DH loves CR. This is his only request of where to eat at. I don't eat shellfish but I still enjoy CR too.

We were lucky everytime we went & sat by the aquarium. We request a seat there & are willing to wait if necessary. But we are a party of 2 & only small tables are right by the aquarium. However, I think all seats would have a good view.

The one thing I recall from our last meal there was the noise. Maybe it was just the day for every loud child to eat at the Coral Reef. The sound bounced around the restaurant and was a bit annoying. The food was good. Not great. You'll enjoy it, I'm sure!

We ate at Coral Reef last month and eat there every trip. We have never had a bad experience or a bad meal and we are a party of 6. We sat on the front of the middle row and my DD's (ages 6 and 8) had a great view of the aquarium. New this time, the hostess handed them an aquarium guide and they had a great time trying to find everything on the list in the tank! There was also a huge sea turtle sleeping right up front that they were fascinated with and a shark that kept making an appearance.

We all love the food...my DD6 loves the mahi mahi and mashed potatoes on the kids menu. She eats better here than anywhere!

I ate there just once - as a solo.
I'm not much into eating seafood, so I get the chicken spaetzle (sp?).
I thought everything was really great! I think I was on the second level. I have another ADR for this coming early December.

I have eaten here many times, most recently 3 weeks ago and will be again in 2 weeks (Im lucky for 2 trips this summer!:cool1:). Every experience has been great. I always eat the mahi mahi and its always excellent. Everyone in the party has always said their food was good, especially the desserts :thumbsup2. No complaints ever from anyone at our table! There are 2 tiers of seating, and each tier has 2 rows. Ive sat in all areas, and while the seat we got 3 weeks ago right next to the tank was the absolute BEST ever, we've also sat on the top section as well and still had a good view. We've always had great service too! One of my absolute favs!:thumbsup2

The food isnt bad..Not the absolute best but its worth trying IMHO! I had the lobster bisque/salad for lunch once that I really enjoyed!!! DH enjoyed his steak and DS enjoyed the mahi mahi he got and subbed mash po for the cous cous..

We have eaten here several times for lunch and the food has always been good (not great like a costal seafood restaurant), and the service has always been slow. For lunch I don't mind so much because it is a nice break for the feet! We are a small party (2-3), and have sat at the tank and in the booths. The view is good no matter where you sit, but sitting in the booths has the benefit of not having people stop at your table to take pictures of the tank.

We ate there on our last trip. The kids were really tired and hungry, so we decided to take a break there for lunch. We didn't have ADR's, but didn't need them because the place was completely empty. The food was OK. Not great. Kinda spendy for the quality, even when you consider the Disney upcharge. The fish tank is cool, but we have a local restaurant with a huge tank, so it's not like WOW.

But, having said that, we're going back again on our next trip. My youngest one is going to LOVE the atmosphere, and the food wasn't bad or anything. We had a pleasant quiet meal, and it was a great relaxing place for the kids to wind down during the day. :)
