I just watched the movie "The Notebook"

I love that movie, I am the type of person that will watch the movie and THEN go read the book b/c the book is always better and now I have a visual of the characters in my head, but this was the first and only movie that was better than the book IMHO. LoL

I haven't read The Notebook yet, but recently did this with Dear John...reading about Savannah and John all-the-while picturing Amanda Seyfried and Channing Tatum. The book and movie are different, and I like both versions.

When that movie came out, I heard friends say they bawled in the theater. That was a good warning for me since I don't watch tearjerkers. So I've never watched The Notebook, and don't plan on it.

I have never cried harder during a movie than this one. Every time I watch, I cry. The first time I watched, I sobbed. I can control that now.
Love the story and the love shared between the 2 of them.

I was on a bus trip from MA to PA & that was the movie shown. I was sobbing so hard & so loud that the people around me thoguht I was sick or hurt! Many many moons ago I had to choose betwen 2 men I loved. This movie reminded me of that & I got off the bus at the rest stop sobbing "What if I didn't choose the right one?!?!?!?!?!?" My friends still tease me about that to this day, how I was a blubbering mess. It's on Oxygen tonight, which we don't get. But I wonder if I rented it, could I get through it this time without embarassing myself!?

I read The Notebook after I saw the parts of the movie so I pictured the characters as Ryan and Rachel. I read Dear John right after it came out so about three years between movie and book. I guess Channing and Amanda played them how I thought in my head. I pictured Savannah with curlier hair though.
