I just received my new thinner MagicBands and I'm impressed

These new models (I'm not sure how long they've been out) feel so much different than the originals. They are so thin and lightweight, but feel sturdier at the same time. I like how small they are getting and I'm interested to see what the next versions are like. Good job, Disney.

I think january of this year is when maybe a little before I got my 2017 MB and was like this is different ( I got it close to the new year)

The MVMCP bands were the new style, and those came out last November. So it's been nearly a year since the thinner style was being distributed

I don't notice much of a difference either. I do know that the purple have always been the new style and if I put them against one of our original bands I can tell a slight difference. The most obvious is they mold to the arm just a bit better. All in all I find the difference small

The main difference I notice is that its easier to put the new bands on since they aren't as stiff.
If you aren't using the bands on a long-term basis, then it's almost unnoticeable. It threw me off at first because I was used to the original thickness after 10 months of near daily use (kind of like Jim's Prank in The Office where he filled the phone with pennies - almost unnoticeable)

We go every year. This past January we noticed they looked the same but were significantly thinner and easier to put on. The MB's we received for our trip next week are the same thinner quality. So much better! We used to cut the excess length so it wasn't so stiff and bulky on our inner wrist. No need to anymore.

I think it was about sept 2015 is when I think i first saw mention of them.. the purple haunted mansion bands might have been the first ones.. I want to say by march all the thicker bands were gone and it was all thinner ones but you might have some from jan..

the next version has been posted around here somewhere, they are more like a hockey puck and removable from different things like watch straps and probably something that isn't a wrist band like a keychain ir just having it in your pocket like a pet rock. think apple watch and fitbit that the band can be changed.

I tossed 11 of the older thicker bands, and I am working my way back to having each color again, this time the thinner version. I had been declining the bands, but now want them again.

Some of the sold printed design ones are still the thick kind (I got my son Buzz/Woody and it is thick) but others are thin.

I also think the band doesn't click in as strong as the other models but on the other hand, I've never had one come off and I can't say that for the older ones.. there does seem to be a lot of people who have them come off though.. every time I'm in a park, I see someone trying to find it or not noticing it came off..

If the purple HM band I bought last year is the new style (and it is different from the ones I got shipped from Disney), I would say that they are "floppier" than the originals. I think it is also a bit longer.

If I bought ours in June 2015, is it worth getting the new ones? (not the skin chip ones - ha! someday...I totally see that coming.)
