I just received my new thinner MagicBands and I'm impressed

If I bought ours in June 2015, is it worth getting the new ones? (not the skin chip ones - ha! someday...I totally see that coming.)

It's a minor difference and they work exactly the same. No need to buy new ones unless you want a new design

I also was quite happy with the newer generation of bands. We got the first gen bands for our late January trip, but for our trip in late September got the newer ones. They fit so much more comfortably than the first gen ones. I still cut off the excess length, but they just seem to wrap around a lot nicer. I had no problems with it staying closed around my wrist. I can't see ever wearing my first gen ones again. Guess I'll just have to get gen two versions of those two colors at some point.

Hmmm, I just got my new AP one last week and didn't even notice it. I have one of every color from different trips and different periods of time so I'll have to dig out my oldest one and compare them.

So is there an AP Magicband? I thought I had read about s special one, but could not figure out how to purchase?

No, it's just the regular band and you a slider that goes on it. After you have used your AP one time you get one sent to you. If you renew one, you can go ahead and customize it after you pay for it.

I noticed a couple problems with the newer bands however I still like them better.

1. They do come off slightly easier. Mine came undone two or three time this past trip. That said I was juggling the baby when it came undone so that may have been part of my issue.

2. The outer grey part is much harder to remove and leaves a lot of jagged edges. We fixed this problem by running an exacto knife in the groove before removing the grey part.

I think some of them are different and some of them aren't. I got a yellow and it was noticeably different so next time we stayed on property I got one of the colors I already had (hoping for a more flexible one) and it was exactly the same.

We just got back and I didn't even notice a difference, just compared it to last years band and the one from the year before and there is very little difference. I did notice that this year we did not lose a single bandit charm as opposed to the other yyears where we were constantly losing them.

I've noticed that Bandits fall out of the newer bands much easier. I've lost several favorites

Same here. I still use my old ones because I love my bandits. I have a few in my collection that I have found on the ground. Maybe one of yours!!

I also think the band doesn't click in as strong as the other models but on the other hand, I've never had one come off and I can't say that for the older ones.. there does seem to be a lot of people who have them come off though.. every time I'm in a park, I see someone trying to find it or not noticing it came off..

My villians printed one must be the new kind then because I commented to my husband all last week how mine kept randomly coming undone while I was just standing still in lines, etc. I had to snap it back on at least 6 times during the 7 day trip. I'll have to compare it to my old colored ones.

When you get back from your first trip after activating it, you should get an email to customize your AP band. When you get the band, the AP slider will be kind of hidden in the inside of the box that the band is in.

I took pictures the other day. I got the new Maleficent band for our trip this year and compared it to the Sofia the First one I got last year. I LOVE the new one. It doesn't feel so rigid and awkward.

So the one of the left is the new Maleficent band and the right band is Sofia the First purchased about a year ago.

Got my new purple MB today and really like how much more flexible it is than my other ones. My last trip was Sept 2015 and I can't remember which color band I got then, but all of the others I have are the older thicker style.

I'm a big fan of BitBelts! Won't wear a magic band without one. They're reasonably priced and come in all sorts of colors.
