do I do?
A friend of mine just had her 3rd child and is having a tough time paying for all the baby items she needs. I thought I would make up a care package for her and found a Big thing of Huggies diapers 228 for a good price. I'm currently the high bidder. Do they let you know if you won or do I have to keep checking?

If you win, they'll send you an email. If you are out bid, you'll also receive an email and be given a chance to bid again.

They will let you know via email when the auction is over or if someone outbids you, they will email you to let you know.

Good Luck! I won my first auction on Ebay the very first time I tried and it feels great.

They should let you know through email if you are outbid. However, this has not always been the case with me. If it is something that is important to you, I would monitor it. They should also let you know when the auction is over and whether you won or lost. This doesn't always happen either. Make sure you check the shipping cost. I would imagine that a sack of 228 diapers would weigh a lot, and if they charge a lot for S&H, it would have to be a really low auction price to be worth it.

Good Luck, and be careful. Ebay is VERY addicting!!

It is very nice of you to help your friend out...::yes::

It is also a good idea to check five minutes before the auction is over to see if you were outbid so you have time to up your bid if you choose. Good luck!

A good feature of ebay is the proxy bidding thing. What you do is bid the maximum amount you are willing to spend on the item. Ebay automatically bids for you when you are outbid until it reaches your predetermined limit, then it sends you an email to say you've been outbid.

And as Microcell said, check every couple of minutes as the auction is coming to an end. And in the last two minutes, just keep refreshing the screen. Good luck.
