DH is/was flying home tonight. I was watching his flight progress live on flightview (online).....just about the time it was to land, I heard an in-coming email.

I thought "that's odd....it doesn't email you to say it landed"?

Nope, but DH did from his blackberry on the plane. They had landed & were taxiing to the gate.

If you've never used flightview.com, it's pretty neat. You see an airplane icon on a map (with weather if you want), and you watch its progress, altitude, course heading & speed.

I too love technology. My co-worker just bought a portable car navigator
and I borrowed it for trip to L.A., Calif. It was Fantastic! Manuvering the freeways and all. I love that gadget!! If it wasn't so expensive ($500) I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Yes, we have 2 GPS - his & hers....mainly because we are geocachers. www.geocaching.com a sport for geeks. lol

I love not having to find maps to the parking places, then just follow the arrow in the woods to the cache.

yes, we are gadget geeks. DH in woods with his GPS, blackberry & cell phone. (there is a reason for the blackberry AND cell phone -- its a military thing. )

That is WICKED when you are on the ground! When you are in a plane over the Atlantic Ocean watching that on the screen .....
