I just have to ask about the "Fairfield Resorts Timeshare Promotions" on SkyAuction

Has anyone done one of these? They look like they have minimum bids of $2 or so (and not many bidders) and you get a 4 night stay at a 3-star resort owned by Fairfield resorts. You have to attend a 120 minute presentation.

I'm just curious. For $2 and 120 minutes of my week, I might be willing to give it a try. Could I just walk if the resort was horrible? Are there hidden fees?

Thanks,
Lisa

I don't see any other fees like on the other auctions. The one ending today was up to $14 just a few minutes ago, but it's got 10 hrs to go, so it may go higher. I would look in the Winners section to see what final prices have been on ones that have closed.

I don't know if you could leave w/o having to pay extra or not. Did you read the Terms and Conditions link on the auction? You might not get the 1 day Disney tickets until you do the tour, so i'd ask up front about that.

I would look on the Fairfield Resorts website to see what resorts they have in the area to get an idea of where they might put you.

I have done this kind of deal with fairfield in the past but NOT using skyauction. Their resorts in orlando are beautiful but they would probably not put you in one during your stay and give you a hotel like the wyndham on international drive (thats where I stayed, which was good to me). Then they will set you up for the presentation in a different place. Check for taxes and resort fees that might be extra. If you are willing for some high pressure, you could try it. Always read the fine print.

I also did this deal & was not put up in the Wyndham on I-Dr as I requested but placed in a nasty Ramada Disney westgate. Gross hotel room, tiny, dirty, I could go on forever. Fairfield may rate their own hotel as 3 * but I sure bet AAA doesnt. So I agree with carolina traveler, you wont be staying at their timeshare resort but at a hotel they have a vacancy in & then you arent even guaranteed the hotel you choose if its not available when you get to the check in center because you will not be checking in directly at the hotel you choose.
