I just got a call from MS asking if they could do anything for me!

They didn't ask for anything from me. The caller knew when we were coming in, knew how long we'd been members, gave me an "exclusive" (right) number to call if we needed something while we were on vacation. I recently read a post on here (although I can't find it now) in which someone said they'd received a similar call. So, what's up w/ this? I'm not complaining, just wondering.

I received one of those calls the other day too about my upcoming trip. The guy that I talked to said that it was a pilot they were doing to provide another level of customer service and to educate people of magic band since it is new, etc and see if anyone needed any help with that reservations, tickets or anything else. I believe he said they are only targeting certain resorts right now. I know he mentioned BCV, VWL and AK, may have been another one too.

He said that if they were going to continue this and expand it they were probably going to need more people but also gave me the special phone number to call if I needed anything.

Wow, that's good of them. :thumbsup2 Now if they could fix the hold times for calling MS, then we'd all be happy...

They've been doing this for months. We received calls for our May stay and I know others had been receiving well before that. Actually I think we received two calls on the same day from different people for our Dec VGF stay.

Frankly this program irritates me. It's main target is to upsell us to new magical experiences and has been done while wait times at MS were growing rather out of control. I'm not approving of having my dues go towards this.

I was told by DVC management that the calls are being made by the membership magic team. The new manager over the team is responsible for DVC PR and the membership magic initiative which includes all member events, mingles, and other get-togethers paid with our dues.

They also market the pay for events like member crises, adventures by Disney for members, member bass fishing, fireworks cruises, splitsville and more.

They are separate from MS.

OK, that's interesting. He talked to me about VGF. We're doing a split stay, the first 3 nights at VGF, then moving to OKW for 2. He didn't mention OKW... Something new!

Yah this all started a few months ago. We had the same call in May for our June trip.

You got it!

Got a voice mail a few minutes ago for our VGF stay coming up. The caller read from a script, purpose of the call is to thank us for being DVC members, to make sure that our vacation is seamless and magical, to inform us about the membership magic program, offer assistance with planning for our stay, and to tell us about events going on.

Has anyone tried asking them to put in your account that you do not want these calls in the future?

That's what I normally do when I get a call from a place that I don't want to cut ties with but don't want to get calls from (the school where I went to college, the cable company, etc.).

Disney's contact preferences in the past have been a challenge. Sometimes we get mailings, sometimes we don't. Sometime we get phone calls. sometimes we don't.

Currently we don't seem to have any trouble getting boxes and boxes of magic bands. :thumbsup2

Got a call in June before our 1 week trip to SSR and 1 night @AKV. The call was about the AKL night ?????

That was my confusion, too. They asked about the first 3 nights at VGF but not the last 2 at OKW. :confused3

We received them for Jan & May, no call for Oct @ WL

When caller ID indicates a FL area code, I don't pick up since it's normally either a cruise line or time share offer. I have no complaint with the small number of calls we have received from DVC over the years. :thumbsup2
