My next thought is how to fill these wonderful days!!! For those of you who went this past year in the same general time frame, what were the hours of the parks? This is our first time staying at BWV (and our first time during the Christmas Season)...is there anything there we shouldn't miss? Our kids will be 4, 6, 7, and 8. Does the resort have anything special for the kids?

Many thanks!!!

We will be there from the Dec4 to Dec 12....BWV is wonderful...there is a kids fishing trip that you can sign up for that leaves from the BW community hall....my boys do it every trip...The decorations at the hotels are great...make sure you either plan to visit or make PS's so you get to the other hotels...I love Grand Floridan, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge as my favorites...

Hope to see you there....Diane Schlicht is planning on getting some DISer get togethers...hope your family can make one..

Hi,

Congrats!!!!

Allison an associate

I just finished making ressies for the exact same dates - or should I say my fabulous renter did! I was so happy to get the standard view during this week.

We will be down with our DS - 9, DD - 6, 2 Grandmas and a Grandpa and us!! Wow, I think I have gone crazy!

We have only stayed at Old Key West in the past and LOVED it, but it is really appealing to me to be able to walk to Epcot and MGM. I can't wait to try the BWV.

Maybe this will be the year I convince DH to buy into DVC - but probably not - because he sees how much money I save by renting. Hope to see everyone there!

I finished Dec 4 to 10 BWV boardwalk view this morning. I did day by day all last week. This morning was the first time I encountered busy signals and holding, but I was still on and off by 9:10.

This is a wonderful time to go! We've gone the first or second week of December the past 6 years, the last 4 at BWV. Here's some info:

Made our reservations today for Dec 9 - 12 for a studio at the BCVs. NO problems with MS. DH called around 10:30 a.m. and was on hold only for about 3 minutes.

Just finished mine today too for the same time, only at the VWL. I think it is just going to be me and my DD who will be 8 at the time. My 2 DS are too old to yank out of school for the week. Do you know when you have to make the plans for the CP and MVMCP? Also, will they have the light show back next year?

MVMCP tickets usually go on sale in late April. Usually only Friday nights sellout and not until November. I wouldn't advise jumping on them in April, they are nonrefundable. The themeparks board always has posts from people looking to sell their tickets because their plans/dates changed. I got mine for a Tuesday night last month the day before.

CP usually goes on sale around August. They are refundable with 48 hours notice, so no risk there by buying early.

No official word on Osborne Lights for next Dec.

I finished a ressie for that time frame at OKW this AM as well, but couldn't get through to MS until 9:50. That's the first time I had gotten such a steady busy signal since I started making the ressie last week.

Congrats!!! I just started bopoking ours today for the 11th-18th for a 2 bdr at the BWV's. I can't recall ift he resort does anything special. When my boys were younger they really enjoyed going to the other resorts and checking out the decorations, many are made with obscene amounts of sugar and chocolate. Someone else mentioned the MVMCP it's a must in our book. We, being the adults, love the CandleLight Processional and hopefully the Osbourne Lights will be at MGM.

The kids love to get hot cocoa and look at the lights.

Thanks for all for the insight!!! I honestly can't wait!!!!!:hyper:

ZW - I tried the above link, but it doesn't work for me. I'd love to meet up with some fellow DISers while there. We're coming in via Amtrak on Sunday 12/5 around noon time. My daughter's teacher (and fellow DVCer) suggested MVMCP on Tuesday night because of fewer people.

My wife and I are considering Amtrak from Harrisburg, PA to WDW sometime in the future. Have you done it before? How long does it take? What's the cost? How do you get from the station to your resort? Anyone with Amtrak experience, feel free to answer. Maybe I should move this to the Transportation Board, but I don't know how. (Technologically impaired!)

We did Amtrak in November 03 for the first time. There were 2 adults and 4 children. We traveled coach from Trenton to Orlando. The trip down was 21 hours and the trip back was 24 hourst (we had a 2 hour delay, should have been 22 hours back). The cost with a AAA discount was $615 round trip for all of us!!! Much better than airfare if you don't mind the time involved. We used Tiffany Towncar (tiffanytowncar.com) for transportration to VWL. The cost was $90 RT for a passenger van, with a stop for groceries included. For us with 4 small kids, ages 3-7, the train was good because they could get up and walk around and go to the bathroom whenever. We also took breaks up to the lounge and dining cars for change of scene. We brought along portable CD and DVD players to occupy them. I think coming from Harrisburg, you'd have to take the train to Philly. Or, you'd have to drive to Philly, Wilmington, or Baltimore to pick up the train. We decided it definitely beat driving. We were relaxed when we got to our destinations on both ends.
