“Throw a rock into a pack of dogs, and the one that yells is the one that got hit.”
Defend yourself against what? If you post something about drunk drivers, I won't feel the need to defend myself. Guess why. Because it doesn't apply to me. You said I painted using a broad brush. Since when has "SOME" been a generalization? Due to a previous conversation via PM, I thought that you were different. I guess I was wrong. I didn't personally attack you or anyone else. I used the word "SOME" so that it wouldn't be mistakenly taken as a generalization, but I guess I was wrong. I'm sorry.
I've spent my life thinking I was different and trying to hide it, apologize for it and overcome it..
I'm not different. I'm just like everyone else and this board has made me understand that. I have found a level of acceptance and friendship and community here that astounds me.
Unlike a pack of dogs who are only motivated by their own individual need, I feel strongly about anyone throwing rcoks at this group for any reason.
Your post accuses "some" of these people as being juvenile in order to be a "cool kid". I see this very differently. I see this as them feeling the way I do....protective. Protective of something I dont find many other places.
Spend some time reading these boards and you will find the same sentiment over and over and over. There are some strong bonds in this group. Friendships have been forged. People are getting support here that they dont find other places.
I've said it before, but it bears repeating. We laugh, we cry, we celebrate, we mourn, we console, we rejoice.....all of these things are here for anyone that wants to partake. We exclude no one.
Whether you have singled out inviduals or used the vague term "some"....you have thrown stones at a group that I dont feel deserves to be hit with rocks.
I'm not different. I have found that there are many here like me and I will defend them when I feel it's necessary.
