I Just Couldn't Do It...

I plan on visiting both WDW and Universal. I wouldn't make the trip to FL without visiting both. But then again, I am not a fanatic who goes to WDW every year (or more than once each year). And I don't feel so "loyal" to Disney that I wouldn't give another place a try. They are just a money-grubbing corporation after all.

I haven't been to Universal since 1997. We enjoyed it, but my three year-old was so little that we couldn't do many of the "big people" rides. Now that he's 12 maybe we should give it a try. For those who go to Universal, do you spend just one day, or more than one? Thanks.

Is it a one day, or multi day, experience in your personal opinion? Thanks! :goodvibes

IMO I would say at least 1 day per park USF/IOA. On my vaca there a few years ago, we planned on 2 each for USF, IOA, and SW. We were a little bored on the second day at USF but the rest was perfecto, HTH :thumbsup2

We feel the same way - like being a traitor to Mickey!! We go to Citywalk each year only to have lunch "with Jimmy" & buy more CS t-shirts!
FINS-UP!!

Thanks! We'll definitely take that advice. :goodvibes

We go every year to both parks, we of course spend much more time in WDW than we do Universal but we got to both.

When the girls were younger we didn't go to IOA because they couldn't enjoy the rides. Now that they are getting older we do both parks.

Universal is an awesome park for full family rides. We are big movie watchers and we love being able to "ride the movies". The kids all love it

IOA is rated one of the best adventure parks in the United States, it didn't get rating for nothing. It blows Disney away for thrill rides. BUT Disney isn't about Thirll Rides... They are totally different parks with different objectives and ways of getting people there and making them happy.

VERY DIFFERENT PARKS.

Another thing is we ALWAYS do Universals Horror Nights...this is by far the best Halloween party I've ever been to. It is amazing how they put that together. By far one of our best experiences.

Now with that said. Universal is no Disney. We spend 2 days of our 12 at Universal. Our hearts lay with Disney. We love the atmosphere and everything else there is that comes with Disney.

We do not go there for thrills and chills, we go there to experience a place where time stands still and we as a family just enjoy it.

You really shouldn't bash Universal, they are competitors and that is it. Both places offer different things and none should discounted.

Go and try it out, but go with an open mind and know that it's not Disney. it's Universal, you may enjoy yourself.
