Okay-I have been reading on these boards about how good this book is (A Million Little Pieces). I started it last night. I sat down just a few minutes ago and got to the dentist part. Well, I just couldn't read these pages. I had to skip past about 5 of them. :( I can't begin to imagine what James was going through.

I told DS 17, if he ever, ever remotely thinks about drug use, pick up this book and read a few pages.

THere were a few parts that I found really difficult to read as well.
It is a great book though.

I read that part at the hairdresser. I was sobbing while sitting under the dryer. :(

It's a very emotional book to read.

Christine..... ::yes:: yup!! LOL

I have not read the book - or for that matter even heard of it until this thread!

The reviews from the link KarenB posted say it is supposed to be a good book, but it is not a true story.

Is this still worth reading knowing that? Or should I just skip it?? I am not one who can stomach really gross things unless I absolutely have to! :confused:

Oh-just read the smokinggun link. I can't believe I haven't hear that! ggrrrrrr

It's too bad you read it before you finished the book. Even if it isn't true, there are a lot of spoilers in that article.

My 16-year daughter just read this book as an assignment for her Honors Lit class. I proofread her paper on the book for her and was quite interested. I may have to read the book myself.

Forget the dentist part - the part about his toenail is what was worst for me!!
