I just checked my flights

When I booked over the winter, airfare for my family of 5 cost $1,000.

Those same flights are now up to $1,496!!! That's a 50% increase in price!!

I think I need to go stimulate the economy with all the money I saved!

I laughed so hard when I read your post..... I thought the same thing, in fun of course.

BUT, it is amazing the number of people that come on here and complain that their airfare had gone down and they expect a credit/refund NOW! No one ever offers to pay the higher price when the price goes up!

Good for your OP for buying when the price was right. Have a great trip!

Nah, I'm not one of those "they owe me money!!" kind of people. Shopping (for anything really) is like Russian roulette-- you choose your time to buy, and stick with that price. If someone does better than I do, well then they were smarter or luckier or whatever.

But by the same token, it allows me to do the happy dance when I find out I was one of the lucky ones.

Big picture: if money were THAT big an issue, I wouldn't be flying anywhere.
