My LSS just had a garage sale. :cool1:
What they did was sell table space ($5.00) and people were able to bring in scrap stuff they wanted to sell. A lot of people cleaned out their scrap supplies. They LSS gave them blank prices stickers bar coded with their info. The people wrote the prices in and the LSS rang up the sales. The people didn't actually get money, but credit to be used in the store. It was a zoo! I spent $16.00, but got a lot of stuff. I got a lot of different fibers, about 30 sheets of 12 x 12 paper (some with matching stickers) and few corner punches, a 35 pack of markers, and some storage containers.

I think if someone did this, it could be a great fundraiser! :thumbsup2

I hosted a garage sale at my store a few months back. Everyone had such a blast. The only difference is that the "sellers" kept what ever money they made. My theory is that most the stuff is older and I no longer carry it, so why not sell it to someone else and have money to buy more scrapbook supplies...hopefully at my store. ;) Plus, everyone had to walk through my store to the back where the tables were set. It was very busy and I also had a great day in sales. One lady made over $700....she had ALOT of stuff to sell!! One friend sold rubber stamps (she use to be a consultant for one fo the stamping companies). She sold her brand new and gently used stamps for 25¢ to $5.00 each.

I'm hosting another sale June 10th and people are begging to sign up now, but I've set a day in May to open registration. I'm trying to figure a way to fit more tables!! LOL

My LSS has one in late may - the tables are set up on the sidewalk outside the store - this is her second one, so she must have made money last year! I'm trying to sort out enough to bother taking a table.

Wow! We had a garage sale up here at the Xandau store.. and it was layed out very similar to what you went too.. it was a zoo..I couldn't even find parking to go.. than I came home to an email saying they were closing one of their stores this Wed... It's a store about an hour from here. I'd love to go because everything is 50% off...but the kids have major activities this week and I can't get the time to go.. :( I may try to send my Dh up there one night after work.. I only want one thing in particular but I'm sure it's already gone.. :(

I made almost $200 in store credit at a lss garage sale a couple of months ago. It was great to get rid of some stuff I wasn't using anymore and I'm still enjoying my store credit. :cool1: The tables were set up in the back of the store and some ladies made even more $$ than I did. They've got another one scheduled for this summer and I'm going to get some of my punches, stamps, fibers, and idea books ready to do it again.

We had a sale at our LSS last month and I made $325 in store credit. It will last me a long time (good for one year)....and it was nice to clear out the clutter.
