I have been assisting some friends who own an Estate Appraisal business with a gigantic estate sale this weekend. They had a beautiful piece that features Mickey as the Sorceror's Apprentice from Fantasia. It is a funny little picture, with Mickey looking like he was running and his face is all scrunched up. (If I can figure out how to add the picture I will!). It is not your typically Disney marketable picture, in that it is not the nicely composed with a full character behind a nice scene. It is not numbered, and one corner is slightly bent. It includes the sketch and the paper that it is drawn on is slightly yellowed. It is magnificently framed in a gold and black frame. Bonnie, my friend said that the original owner had it for almost 50 years.....so that would make the timing about right. It has a certificate of authenticity that says it is an original production cel. At the sale it was marked at $1450 and it didn't sell the first day. I put in a bid of $800 and when I got there to help today I saw my name and a "sold" sign on it. I am just WAY too excited!!!!
