I just bought a netbook! Does anyone have one?

I've never even had a laptop before, so it's high time! I wanted something I could surf the net on, do a little on-line shopping, check my e-mail, Facebook, the Dis (of course) and have it just be MINE. I don't want to have to share it with the whole family, or come upstairs into our freezing cold computer room, shut away from every one else to use it. Now I can hang out in the kitchen or living room or even outside if I want to. I'm so excited!

I bought a Toshiba Mini NB205-N230 10.1-Inch Black Onyx Netbook. I read a lot of reviews and it looks perfect for what I want. It comes on January 8th. Now I am really, really looking forward to Friday!!

Who else loves their netbook? Tell me good things!

I got a Dell netbook from my sweetie for Christmas and I love it. It's mine and no one else can touch it.

It's mine, mine, mine!!

It's my first laptop, too and the flat keyboard is taking me a bit to get used to. But I think I'll manage.

I have an Asus netbook. I upgraded to 2 gb memory, and like it much more now.

I got a HP netbook last year for Christmas, and I love it. It's far more convenient to use than my bigger laptop. I installed Microsoft Works when I first got it because I use the word processing program a lot. It's a great little computer.

I have one!! Hubby got it for me for our anniversary ... we got all four girls one for Christmas!! Now we ALL have our own computers!! It's WONDERFUL!!! LOVE IT!

Yes, I have an acer 10.1 netbook, and am using it now. Love it! I got it in August to take to disney world to keep up with email and news about our cat from our cat sitter. You will love it. Its great to have a laptop thats just mine.

I'm so glad you posted this thread! I've been wanting a netbook and plan to get one as soon as I've saved for it but just yesterday my 16yo niece told me that they have them at her school and she doesn't like them because the screen is too small. She complained that she couldn't see unless you zoom and then you have to scroll over to see the entire screen. I was SO disappointed to hear her complaints because I've really been looking forward to having my own computer.

Anyone have any comments about the screen size?

I have a netbook. It's a pretty unknown brand, EeePC. It's great. I have the webcam to connect with friends and it came programmed with it's own security thing. I love it. TGFNetbooks!

I'm using mine right now and I love it. At first, didn't think I would use it too often, but felt it would come in handy when traveling, etc. Now, I find I am using it all the time since it is so light and convenient.

I got myself a Dell mini for my birthday this past summer and I haven't used my desktop since. I love it, my only complaint is that I didn't get the larger battery but I can just order one and put it on.

We ordered a Dell netbook for my daughter for Christmas. It takes 4 times as long to load internet pages than our other computers. It's sole purpose is to access the internet, right? Shouldn't it do that well? It's slow as Christmas.

SO - I was on the phone with Dell this a.m. trying to return the thing (40 minutes on hold, 40 minutes "chatting" with the foreign call center guy).

THEY CHARGE A 15% RESTOCKING FEE ON ALL RETURNS.

Doesn't matter if you return it the next day. The moment you place an order with Dell, you have kissed 15% goodbye, whether the product meets your expectations or not.

I wish I had known this before I ordered the thing.

Never again.

I also have an Acer and love it!

It comes in handy when DH is playing a video game on the computer and someone wants to browse or look something up.

I have also done ebay auctions and uploaded pictures too!

A crazy question though - does anyone know if you can print from it? Like can I hook a printer up to it and print information off of it (like from Wordperfect or something?)?

We have been buying them for about a year now for people who travel a lot at work, they love them.

As far as screen size, if your using it many hours a day then I could see it being an issue. You can hook a full size monitor to them to use like a desktop.

I have the Acer 11.6 netbook. I went with the slightly larger size due to the keyboard. The 10 inch one has such a compact area for typing that I didn't think it would be comfortable. I have tiny hands and feel that the 11.6 keyboard is perfect! I love mine.... make sure you get as much memory as you can...
