I mean I guess I knew it already, but seeing December 2021 written out is so sad.

Disney did find the reservation in their system, but informed us that they will not be re-opening The Lodge until after December 31st, 2021.

Yeah, it looks like the main WL rooms are going through a refurb of sorts right now.

Where did you see that? The only recently announced refurb of rooms is the Poly. WL is one of the locations closed because of reduced capacity.

WL resort side was mid-way through room refurbs when COVID hit. They had completed the top CL floor and maybe the one below it, can’t remember the exact sequence off the top of my head. When I was there in July construction walls were up on the middle floors, but there wasn’t much evidence of anything else going on. I’m not sure where things stand with the current status, if they had restarted work, or what.

What December 31, 2021 really means is that on the 499-day pre-booking basis, no one is committing to anything for ALL of next year.

I saw it when I stayed at Copper Creek last week. Saw what looked like construction stuff on the outside patio of a concierge room and it looked like a worker or two in one of the rooms when I was passing by outside.

No they don't need to have a scheduled reopening date. Just a planned reopening on the scheduled

The WL finished the 7th floor Concerage floor, the 6th floor and most of the 5th floor on the north side of the main lodge. They are working on the 4th, 3rd, and the 2nd floors now.

Disney accept reservations 499 days out, so you're way out on that regardless. None of the resorts will take that booking until well into 2021. They do need to have a planned reopen date before they take bookings. So Disney is taking late July bookings for Poly right now, since they have a planned date.

There is no planned date at WL.

Just had a vacay at Copper Creek two weeks ago. Now booked another vacay this time at Boulder Ridge in mid-January. That AP discount of up to 40% off rooms was too good to pass up!
