I hope the Treasure is not like the Wish

I'm always shocked about the hate of no running track because when we were on the Dream my husband and I used it several times and we were alone with no one else using it, both in the morning and evening and this was a full cruise. I imagine they realized they could make some spaces, aka kid's spaces as they do cater to families, that a higher percentage of people used so went that route. Can't you also turn around and go back the way you came if you don't want to go up the stairs?

We feel every ship has it's positives. I like the adult area of the Wish being Aft, the smoking area being the next level up from the pool and the bar, the hot tubs being along the side with the additional seating and the round loungers being able to see Funnel Vision. To me the adult area isn't smaller as much as it's spread out and divided. As for the running track, in early AM the 11th level has a complete walk around the entire ship and most people are still resting.

We are doing a 12-nt British Isles cruise next fall on Princess because their itinerary was way better than DCL’s BI cruise.
It will be long and exhausting but we’re excited to do it. I will probably be wanting a 3-nt quickie in hot weather afterward.
Sometimes you need a vacation from your vacation.

Not sure why you even started reading this thread if you feel the way you do. It is clearly titled as a discussion about what people would like to be different than the Wish. Entitlement has to do with people feeling they are owed more. Not sure how that fits when people are disappointed in something that has always been part of Disney’s ships not being there any more. People should have the freedom to discuss the pros and cons for them of all the ships. It just might help someone new decide which ship might be the best fit for them.

Oh my goodness. Yes dear. I’m aware of the initial start/discussion. I do believe my response was regarding a topic that is a repeater not just in this thread but so in many others that discuss the Wish and the “wish” list for these class of ships. Hope that helps.

I got to say though to the rest of your response. It’s like beating a dead horse though. This has been going on since the Wish debuted. Looping. That’s all I’m getting at.

You can either add the stairs to your routine, use the gym, or run ashore. I'm not sure why some people are being so shirty about this in either direction.

That said, I had a good time on The Wish and am super excited to be traveling on the Treasure this winter, since the theming of the bars, etc could not be more in my and my husband's wheelhouse, like the ship was designed for us!

People will absolutely disagree about what they like/don't like. The elevator design bothers some people, but we almost always take the stairs. I agree fully with those who don't care for the Marvel restaurant; I found the food in the Wish MDRs pretty disappointing overall, but the new buffet is lovely and the pool deck restaurants are great. The lounges were great.

I don't think there is a bad ship, but there could very much be a ship that is not for you. If you don't like the design of the Wish, you likely won't like the Treasure much. I don't have a problem with the design, but the theming announcements on the Destiny leave me cold, so we probably won't make a point of cruising on that one.

I think the number of actual runners that want a real 'track' is a tiny fraction of all Disney Cruisers. I spend a great deal of time time outside on the 'track' while cruising, and see maybe 3 people running a day. Quite a few walking, but hardly anyone actually running for a hard work out. I see way more 'runners' up in the gym on the treadmills. I think people just like to complain about what they think they have lost.

I assure you runners want a real track... they don't call it the 'dread'mill for nothing. I actually prefer to run on one for various reasons at home but literally every other runner I know thinks I am insane. Even I do not default to the treadmills on the ship though - I run on the track. Often when I go into the gym they're all in use, but even when they are not, the pitch of the ship up and down from 11 forward makes me feel unstable and the ceiling feels too low and offputting. On the Wish they moved it down to deck 5, but now it has tiny portholes instead of big windows. Running when we're in port would work, but... I'm off the ship then. There is no "thinking" we lost something... we did. Running outside at sea is amazing and the pitching is easy to overcome when you're outside. I'm not sure how you only saw three runners... pretty much anytime of day there are at least a few folk running or speed walking out there all day every day. The only times I see it deserted is mid day when we're in port, when it became a smoking area, and late at night - its rare we are the only people out there running.

Apologies as I’ve stopped reading but have seen enough that I’m surprised people are still complaining about the “running” track. For the love of mercy! I love BBQ and shocked it took them so long to add a BBQ station; perhaps I’ll start a thread on “I can’t believe they never had this before”. Okay, (I am cringing a bit as I write this. LOL) but it’s not the end of the world. They do have treadmills for the die hards. They do make pit stops (PORTS) so it’s not like one can’t get their “run on” if the body is in so much pain. It’s not like the ships don’t pose enough outside air. Sorry but it’s starting to feel like a room of crybabies with entitlement. Stop complaining or get off the pot already. If it’s SO important, jump ships. Run Forrest Run. A parent can never please their child, a child can never please their parent and yet it goes on and on and on about how some ships can’t please the masses. Wish in one hand and poop in the other and see which fills faster. Just saying. Can folks get over it and move on please? It’s like a soap opera on a loop.

They added the BBQ, they did not take it away, so that's the opposite. And nope, I'll keep mentioning them taking something we loved away sucks when people bring up why the Wish gets a bad rap and I hope they come to their senses on future ships. Even though we have indeed avoided sailing on her again. On our one and done Wish sailing we did not get to run on the treadmills at all; we tried a few times and all were in use, which is what happens when you take away options. We only were able to run on Castaway Cay which made me miss the sea breeze even more. The Adventure has a track, but that design was begun by a different company...

Turning around every .2 miles risking slamming into folk every turn? Pass. I mentioned earlier we always see folk using it, but we only sailed the Dream once on our first sailing before I was a runner. Perhaps it is the difference between short and longer cruises. We're sailing on the Dream next month and I plan to run at sea while I can! I admit I was in the group that hoped the ships doing longer sailings would have figured something out, but knew not to hold my breath. We are sailing the Treasure next year as I am excited for the themes, but it will also likely be a one and done. Destiny isn't my bag at all. We're on the Magic in '26 so I'll be sure to pack my running shoes.

It’s also hard not to sound like you’re pushing an agenda when giving opinions. It’s one if the drawbacks of forums.

I saw the direction of the thread about the pier at LC and just didn’t keep reading the posts. I don’t think there was a winner or conclusion, but I hope those who did comment felt they got the chance to express themselves.

I view these forums as an opportunity to have conversations about something many of us enjoy - cruising and related travel. Perhaps others in one’s circle don’t hold the same interest and they drop in here for a chat or the latest news. Some drop in for recommendations. Those new to Disney cruising (and even not new) often are looking for information.

Sometimes we just want to get something off the chest. Find out we’re not the only ones that feel this way.

As I stated earlier, also hoping that our rumblings find their way to powers that make decisions.

If this were an issue that was determined by Congress, we would create a postcard and have everyone mail it to their respective representative. (It’s fascinating to see that mail come in to a Senator’s office in DC.) I would love for us to have a similar way to communicate with DCL. Other than a select few who do random surveys.

I am actually afraid they had inked the blueprints for the new ships before they made the big announcement at D23 this Summer. Maybe not. But I fear they probably won’t give us a one-level Promenade. Maybe if the ship designer was a runner…

The empty sports bar without much going on
The hyperspace lounge is small and underwhelming.
The gym is small with no ocean views. On the Wonder I able to see whales while working out. Could not do that on the Wish.
I normally love the buffet, but I'm not interested if I can't serve myself and the selection seemed smaller.
The horrible adult area. I don't even know where to begin with that.
Very small crowded loud restaurants. 1823 is the exception.
I do like the laundry room, Donald's Cantina, Rose and Palo.

It's not just the lack of running track. I could overlook that if the rest of the ship wasn't such a design mess.

That's simply not true. Royals new ships all have fantastic running tracks. Google Icon of the seas there's plenty of you tube videos. All cruise lines are including running\walking tracks. Disney's new ships are the anomaly.

I'm surprised that this thread has resurfaced. Since we like 7-day cruises and this is our only option for the Caribbean, we are booked on the Treasure March 2025. I look forward to posting my thoughts

Parts of my family did it in the Caribbean Princess and really enjoyed it. I was /am jealous.

We have strayed from Disney in Europe for better itinerary's and better price. Have had no regrets. DCL currently has nothing to offer us that is interesting. I have not cruised Princess, but I do like their all inclusive add-ons. They also have laundry rooms which is pretty nice for a long cruise.

Crowded loud restaurants? Arrendelle is no more louder then any other dcl restaurant unless ofcourse you are counting the amazing show noise? But that noise is sensational. Its one of the reason we love the ship.

The shows are cringy. I like talking to my family during meals. The new ships do sound perfect for you. I actually hope others agree. More discounts on the other ships for me.

I really didn’t enjoy Arendelle at all. I did really enjoy Tiana’s and Rapunzel’s so I was expecting good things but it fell flat for me.

Mostly because I don’t think the singer of the folk band when I sailed is a particular good singer. If it had just been music I’d have enjoyed it a lot more. It was really the singing that was too much.

We’ve officially broken up with shower curtains, sad carpets, and ancient fixtures. The first two ships' rooms could now pass for the Travelodge of the sea. The next two will be right there in a couple more years.

Wish is the only current Disney ship we care about -- too bad its itineraries suck.

At least Disney had the sense to port most of the Wish to the Treasure. These ships are screaming for longer itineraries.
