I hope the Treasure is not like the Wish

Anyone know when we will start getting more updates on the treasure? Some inside photos? We are only 6-7 weeks out from the first cruise. Seems crazy there has been so little info.

Agree with the PP. Since the ship is just now undergoing sea trials we won't hear much until the first influencers get on board.

Our favorite Palo server and her twin sister are going to work on the treasure. They are on the crew that will sail the ship to the states. She has an IG account where she is going to document the sailing. I am sure she will be posting videos of the treasure. They aren’t on the ship yet - still on break.

Its a 3-4 day cruise. With a land stop on castaway cay with a 5k run. You dont need to run on the wish.

But you can walk and its a much more spectacular track for walkers. Going out the front of the ship gives amazing views and often theres no one there. Other ships are really lacking this really cool aspect.
Some of us like to walk or run everyday not 1 out of 4 days. Who are you to say that a runner doesn't need to run? There is no spectacular track for walkers that has been established over and over on these forums. You obviously don't walk much less run so it's not an issue for you.
This ship will not always be doing short cruises and the Treasure is doing 7 days. Now your going to tell me that no one needs to run or walk for the 7 days.
What ship are referring to that lacks the ability to go to the front of the ship?

If I'm not mistaken, the Treasure was built too close to the Wish and the design was locked to truly have any major changes compared to Wish based on guest feedback. I would expect it to mostly be the same with a few minor changes here and there based on what might not have worked on Wish (although nothing really comes to mind).

there are port days. There is a gym.

Does disney have to cater to every very small niche? People who need to run literally everyday on a holiday are a very small niche. I run, swim or ride every day (not sure how thats relevant). But like most people i dont need to do it everyday or even at all while on holiday. Holiday for most people is solely family/fun time. Not my gym time. And there is a gym there anyway for those who want to run. There is a walkway where you can walk but with stairs for those who want to stroll after dinner away from people.

If disney has to cater for the very small niche of those who must run on sea days and also refuse a treadmill then I would argue they must cater for a lot of other niches first that arent as small. Like people who like to dance but dont like silent discos. Kids who are 11-14 who like activities in the kids club. People who like to eat buffets at dinner or people who want proper healthy food options at dinner. People who want an actual proper water slide on their cruise holidays rather then the water coasters. All these groups are much bigger and deserve to get catered first before the smaller must run every day but not on treadmill crowd. Disney cant cater to every need.

Well said. Haven’t been on the Wish but I’m going on the Maiden voyage of the Treasure.

Lots of people like to walk on the walking track while on a cruise. It is much different than walking on a treadmill. Walking on a treadmill, you miss the sea air and the wonderful ocean breeze. That is a big draw to people - it is one of my most favorite things about a cruise. I walk miles on the track every day of the cruise. And I am never alone - always lots of other guests out walking too.

The thing with not having a walking track on the Wish/treasure is that all of the other ships have them and so many people use them. And want them on the new ships. It is one of the reasons we haven’t sailed on the wish.

I am not a runner. A stroller, perhaps.

But most cruisers - not just Disney - are used to some form of single-level running / walking track.

Those who know may be disappointed with this “mistake” or change that a non-cruiser ship designer made.

@cvjw - quit posting my words as I am typing. It’s definitely a jinx day. But nice to have someone else thinking what I am.

I’ve used the track to run and often I’m one of a few people out there for that purpose. I really don’t get all this negativity. You still can walk in fresh air many places on the wish, even without stairs. And you can still run on your vacation. Every one needs to make choices for a vacation and if this ship doesn’t work for you, choose to be happy.

Considering every ship out there has a walking or running deck even small river cruises. I wouldn't consider it a niche. I would not consider including one to be catering to anyone. It's obviously a design flaw with no real reason not to include it.

Running and walking outside while looking at the ocean is a very enjoyable and relaxing experience for a lot of people. You should try it sometime. I enjoy it and why would I want to take a vacation where I can't do something that I enjoy. Running in port is great when you are at port where it's safe and easy to get off the ship and do it. Alaska and northern Europe cruises are good for this. The Caribbean and Med not so much.

I wouldn't consider anything you listed above a niche. All those things you listed can be found on other cruise lines. Disney has never offered any of those, but they did have walking decks until the new ships. Thankfully there a ton of ships and options out there. We can all find something that fits our needs.

Rather than choose to be happy I would say choose another ship if it doesn't work for your. It's way too much money to talk yourself into enjoying it.

You need to do a Hawaii or TA and walk across the Atlantic or Pacific. The sunsets are amazing.

Our first WBPC had amazing sunsets too. :cloud9: That is the cruise that got us walking after dinner each night which we didn't specifically do on previous sailings. We'd do around 4 laps and then head to the show. Perfect timing.

*Our 2nd WBPC probably had amazing sunsets too but they happened while we were in dinner. The first one was a March cruise and the 2nd one during October.

We especially prefer doing the walk on the Magic/Wonder because you can see the huge anchor, chains, and rescue boat, among other things. It's much more interesting to look at than white walls. It's also why we still haven't sailed the Wish and those crazy prices are not exactly enticing. Maybe we'll do a 3-night quickie next year just to see it ourselves.

I have never been on a cruise before and I am no longer a runner. I have to say though that after I booked our August 2025 trip on the Wish and then found out there was not an entire way around the ship I was surprised and a little disappointed.

I think part of the issue is that the four classic ships do have a running track. So DCL did cater to that niche, and then they 'took it away' (from a certain perspective).

The main promenade deck is deck 4.
The front of the ship promenade is on deck 6.
You have to do 2 flights of stairs to get to the front of the ship from the main promenade deck.
I agree the views are great there and it is very often empty of cruisers.

However, we have been on the Wish when they had those stairs blocked off.
You could not get to the front of the ship.

Also, since the front of the ship promenade is on deck 6, why couldn't they have finished the deck 4 promenade all the way around the ship? That seems like a design mistake.

But with the design of the Wish it seems like when walking inside on deck 4 they don't even want you to go outside.
We have walked by doors to the outside on deck 4 and didn't even know they were doors to the outside.

We have seen a lot more people outside on the promenade deck 4 on the other ships over the promenade deck 4 on the Wish.

It's a standard feature on any ship. Now the size may vary, but generally there is some some of loop that doesn't require multiple steep stairs and dead ends. The ones on the top deck can get a little sunny, windy and rainy, but at least they are functional. Royal has the best ones that I've experienced. Your analysis is spot on.
