I highly recommend keeping your trip a secret

The video doesn't work.

I agree- surprise WDW trips are the BEST! My DDs once woke up all the other guests on our floor at the airport hotel in Providence, RI at 4:00 am when we told them where we were going!!!
They just thought we were spending the night at a hotel for fun- and when we woke them up early to catch our flight- they lost it and yelled and screamed for 5 mins! It was great.
Maybe not for the other guests.... but still great!

Awesome video and memory! We did this too and my DD would not believe us when we tried to get her out of bed. She's not much of a morning person and at one point refused to go! Once she really woke up she jumped out of bed!

That is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO awesome! We were on the fence about whether or not to tell with our kids about our Oct trip and this has confirmed we will not be telling them. Our kids have been before and I know they just can't wait to go back. Thank you for sharing!!

That's awesome - you guys will cherish that video forever!

Wow!!! What a great video! I hope you all had a blast!!!

We're doing this in May for dd's birthday. We plan to pick them up at school and have the screens for their DVD player wrapped like a present. DD will open it and we'll have a video telling them that we have a LONG car ride ahead of us.....but it will end in a Disney Cruise (and then two days at the parks for the actual birthday).

We've done this once before and it was really fun to see them get excited (although that time we said we were going to dinner in the city--about 40 minutes away and listened to DD complain about how she didn't want to go. I said "Where would you like to go instead?" and predictably, she said "Disney". We timed the question so that she would answer just as we got to the airport exit. Dh said, "Well, ok....just this once and turned off toward the airport." DD couldn't believe we were serious until we were actually on the plane.

She still talks about it...

We're planning a surprise trip for our kids (13, 11 and 9) in November and I'm debating when to tell them. My thought is to have my BIL & SIL (we're going with them) come over the weekend before, for a "family dinner" and say that we've got an early Christmas present for them - maybe wrap up the luggage tags so they each have something to open? That way we'll be able to talk about what we're all going to do when we get there and they'll have a week to get super excited!

Funny thing is, my DD(13) received a postcard yesterday with the Disney offer for the "Kids Play Free" promotion. What? And my son read part of an email on my blackberry - he only caught the "Yacht Club" part - Itold him I'm planning a trip for my boss at a place that has Yachts - thank goodness he bought it!

Oh how exciting!!! I wish I could do it, but I have already told them. I get to excited to keep a secret!!:rotfl2:

Awww that was awesome. It brought tears.

We surprised our boys August 2007. They were so oblivious, even after getting on the bus to head to the MK. We kept telling them that we are going to the store. It wasn't until they saw the castle in view that it dawned on them where we actually were. We didn't get the reaction you did, but I know inside they were going nutts! :goodvibes

Surprising the kids with Disney is the best!! :thumbsup2

OMG that's awesome.

Your DD cracked me up. It took a second to sink in, but when she did ... holy cow.

:rotfl2:

That is an awesome video!

I want to tell others as well that this is a great thing to do with your kids. It takes a lot of hard work, but it's priceless to see their reaction.

We did this as well. Here's the video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZEI9hVYRn8w

Just a background, this was Thanksgiving Day 2008. She had just read a note that says "Today you are going with your mom and dad to stay in a hotel in St. Louis" (she LOVES going there, so it was a great surprise in and of itself). Then the next note that you see in the video says "Tomorrow we are going to...."

If any of you are thinkin of a surprise, GO FOR IT.

what an awesome video! I loved their reactions. We surprised our kids a few years ago, it was great!

oh that was so cool! I cried a little! It made me so excited since I get to reveal my Disney surprise in must 15 more days :)
