I heart josh

I too found out about EasyWDW from the Dis and count me in as grateful. I use both sites and don't think they compete. They are useful in different ways!

BTW, this has nothing to do with theme park planning/strategy and should be moved.

New DISers should visit Josh's site for free crowd planning calendars (something the DIS doesn't offer) and up-to-date tips on how to navigate and negotiate WDW's theme parks and other attractions BEFORE they arrive, to help in their planning process.

NOW it's about TPA&S. :rolleyes1

I'm equally obsessed with both Josh's site and the Dis :thumbsup2
I get a different kind of "fix" from each
Both are absolutely indispensable for planning

Omg this is the most responses I've ever had to a thread I've started lol!!! It's kind of exciting!!! At the time of my original post I was so happy when the August crowd calandar was posted on Josh's site b/c I couldn't wait to finalize my PLANNING..I have been using last years calendar up until then was waiting on this tears crowd calandar to finalize which THEMEPARKS we will be visiting on what day...Which ATTRACTIONS my family will enjoy etc. I also like the way he explains things.. just makes a lot if sense to me... And I have often used his recommendations on previous trips when STRATGIZING... And for my family ..he gets it right every time!!

Just saying... The August crowd calandar has come out and I just love the way he explains why he recommends what he does and it makes so much sense to me... Ahhh I love easywdw!!

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but the OPs enthusiasm for Josh's site makes me feel a whole lot better about planning our next trip using easyWDW.

We're going in March and for the first time are using Josh's recommendations. We've always used TP.com in the past. It hasn't been working as well the last few trips as it once did, plus they don't have recommended parks anymore, they just give you a crowd level of 1-10.

In a lot of cases, Josh's advice contradicts that of TP.com. For those of you, including OP, who have used easyWDW, have you found it to be more accurate than TP?

Thanks OP for starting this thread! Your excitement is infectious!

We're going out in August too, and have just decided on our park schedule (mostly... the end of the week is more likely to change) based on Josh' calendar. I like being able to read his logic of why he recommends the parks, as the days we didn't pick the most recommended park, I feel comfortable in the choice as I feel like I understand what I'm choosing.

aloha517, I think you are in for a knock down drag out tussle over the affections from the Joshster. He seems to be a taken man, as with his loyal side kick Lisa. She stands by her man through thick or thin, good meals or Disney counter service meals. A patient woman, she lets him steal bites of her entrees when he thinks she is not looking and she orders undesirable sugary drinks or raunchy grape wines simply to facilitate the need for a blog photo.

I doubt many women would have the intestinal fortitude to hang with a blogger like Josh, traipsing from one park or resort to another with only the unwelcome promise of yet another overpriced Disney Dining gut bomb. The only highlight of this miserable existence seems to be the shopping! Endless racks of Disney 'Merch' are documented under her watchful eye. If it's cute and for sale at Disney, chances are it won't get past Lisa and her eagle eyes.

Yep, we shall not mourn for Lisa for she is an angel among us! Without her Josh would be lost, wandering the World and only getting as far as Canada and a Unibroue Trois Pistoles (or 3). I think of her as a shepherd herding her lone sheep, nudging here, whacking there, keeping him on task as he fills the insatiable thirst for knowledge of all that is theme park Orlando.

I've been on hiatus from the DIS (parks forums) until recently. Soon after returning I learned about Josh's site. My first thought was.. why hadn't I heard of him before?! I have always used TGM (TourGuideMike) but was thrilled to discover Josh at easywdw.com. I am using his advice for my next WDW visit at the end of March. I have no doubts about using easywdw! I loved that the OP posted this. It's just more confirmation that I made the right choice. :thumbsup2

Does this mean that snarky is the new sexy? I like Josh and his site. I also wonder how he pays for all those drinks and meals and how he doesn't weigh 300 pounds.

If memory serves me I believe he posts on the DIS or has in the past. He does troll the DIS and makes comments on some of the more colorful exchanges/topics.

He does. Plus he uses us for material.

There have been a lot of instances where Josh has gone to one park on both a recommended day and a non-recommended day in the same week to compare the crowds and the wait times. He'll document it all with pictures to demonstrate the difference between following his recommendations and not. A lot of times, if TP had something different, he'll address it and from his pictures can prove that he was right. I love how he actually goes into the parks and uses photos to show that he knows what he's talking about. It's amazing what a difference it can make to be in a recommended park. Josh will also go to two different parks in the same day to compare the difference that way. So I would say, easyWDW is more accurate, and he takes the time to prove it in an informative, detailed, and hilarious way.

I agree with many here

I have the August hours printed out and Josh's guide printed out and have a spread sheet calendar made up of the parks we will be at and the pertain information for the calendars.

For us its a huge expenses in both time and money and with being offsite and Fastpass+ we need all the help we can get.

I look at a dozen associated sited to Disney all found from here. Dis is a great site with a lot of information but the other sites fill in the holes that are here at Dis.

This!!

I followed Josh's advice for our trip last fall, all except the first day. :confused3 Why? Because I said to myself, "Seriously, how much of a difference can it really make between a recommended and non-recommended day". Uhm...BIG difference! The first day was miserable, the rest of the trip smooth sailing! (So much so that my fil rode Kali River Rapids 5 freaken times in a row - tip: if there's no one waiting at the top of the ramp when you get off KRR just whip a u-ey and head back down). Will not plan a trip again w/out using his recommendations.
