Greetings Fellow Disney Nuts! I will warn you that this trip in no way resembles an ideal Disney vacation. It was basically a mish mash of sillyness that occurred on Disney Propoerty! I hope I do not bore you. :rotfl:

I would love to insert some info on a cast here, but since the characters kept changing and getting more confusing, I shall ust give you a lovely picture of me...since this my MY trip.

You may recognize this as a classic "Beverly Face'. I'm usually much more beautiful than this!

I'll give you a short story about the conception of this trip. Dh's best friend since forever decided it would be a fabulous idea to get married in Orlando, in July...outside! After several discussions, DH and I settled on a plan for me to leave on a Tues and meet my cousin for a few child free days, then he and my DD3 would come down on Thur for the wedding and what not. I am a Disney freak, no one else involved "gets it". DH had never been before and this was to be is pre-trip to prepare for the week long real vacation we have planned for Feb 2010.

So, at this point I have packed, made arrangements for childcare, carefully planned every hour of the trip, and was ready to go. I got up at 4:30 after a restless night of excitement and headed to the airport. Flight left without a hitch and I was on my way to Detroit. My first flight all by myself and I have to say, it was as magical as I had imagined it to be. I've only ever flown with my wonderful, but sometimes impatient DH, my DD at various ages or with both of them. So this little trip was so...easy! We landed in Detroit and I started my almost 3 hour layover. Breakfast, a little shopping, a check in with my office (apparently boss-man doesn't like to do desk work and he was my fill-in). Oh and I forgot to tell you that my MIL gave me a new Canon Rebel camera the night before I left, so I spent a little time getting familiar with that!

Before I knew it, we were boarding for Orlando!

I was GIDDY! After 5 minutes of musical chairs I ended up with a window seat, which was what I wanted! Too bad the little boy in my row was scared and asked ever so sweetly if I could keep the window closed. Oh well, I'd be at Disney soon, and nothing was bringing me down!

We landed a little late and I boarded the tram to the rental car area. The plan was for me and my Cousin (whom will be referred to as CUZ from here on out) to meet up at the rental car area upon arrival. She was coming from WV and our flights we only 45 minutes different! So I get in line at the Dollar rental place and make friends with the little British girl behind me. I love kids with accents! British, southern, french..I like them all. As soon as I get called up to get my car, here comes CUZ! We get through that process painlessly and head out to the garage. And much to my surprise we got the PT cruiser I was hoping for! Yeah! Off we go, with no directions to the hotel...oh, well, we'll follow the signs to Disney World!

This very well could be the first trip report to ever start with a Beverly face in the intro. :rotfl2: Looking forward to what else you'll have for us.

Our plan worked! We followed signs to DTD and found the Regal Sun Resort with no problems. I parked at the entrance and went in to check in, leaving CUZ in the car. Found out we got a tower room, which is supposed to be a good thing (?:confused3) and went back to the car to park and find our room. I get in the car, look at CUZ and then realize that the valet guy is at my window. He informs me that if we plan to leave the resort tonight we better sign up for valet parking b/c the lots will fill up and we'll either be stuck with no parking place or have to park waaaaay far away. He informs me that the lots are at 80% capacity already, so we best just pay the $12 (plus tip!) and let him get us parked. I decide that I'd rather check it out first, mostly beacuse Erick, with a CK, was just bugging me. SO I pull around and end up praking right beside the building in a practically vacant parking lot! Nice one, Erick, but I'm not falling for it! 80% capacity, my sweet bippy!

Get to the room and was very pleased!

Our DTD View!

We (me and CUZ) get dolled up and head to DTD for the evening!

DTD was relatively quiet, as it was a Tuesday evening. This was fine for us. We headed to Earl of Sandwich, where I had the Original 1792, which was very good. She had the club and seemed quite pleased. I had hoped to get back there again, but it just never happened. I also forgot to get a pic of this sandwich! Mostly we strolled and stopped wherever peaked out interest. I had to go into the Art of Disney and check out the Vinylmation. I was sure that I would have to have one, if only b/c the element of surprise intrigued me! I got this picture just because I have a Geisha fascination!

We stopped at Trendz and I loved that store. I have to say that whole evening was rather uneventful, but just being there was great. We really took our time looking at everything and I think the part I enjoyed most was the Disney music faintly playing in the background. I was very excited about going to World Of Disney but it was a mad house and CUZ couldn't handle it, so we ducked out quickly!

I also found my first HIDDEN MICKEY of the trip!

I had envisioned a wild night of margaritas and shopping, but we ended up going home pretty early to get some rest for the next day....Drinking around the World at Epcot!!!

This very well could be the first trip report to ever start with a Beverly face in the intro. :rotfl2: Looking forward to what else you'll have for us.

I thought that would make it a little more interesting! I'll be sure to include a less ugly picture of me later on! Thanks for reading.

LOVE the beverly face and hope that drinking around epcot will be more tasty then the beverly was!!:goodvibes

With a picture like that, I'm in! Did you like the Regal Resort?

Regal Sun was good. bathroom left a bad taste in DH's mouth. I did a full review under the Orlando Accomodations reviews.

I figured the scary face would lure in a few people!

Day Two:

The plan was to get to Epcot at rope drop, hit the few rides we wanted to do in Future World and then get to the World Showcase at 11:00. Of course, like always, my plan didn't exactly work.

We got to the parking lot at 9:00 and missed the actual rope drop, but were still good and early. I wanted to run to Soarin, get a fast pass and then go to TT. But we strolled through the entrance, needed a cookie to prevent starvation and realized that we were just outside of TT. The line was non-existant so we decided to ride that and deal with Soarin when we got there. TT was awesome as always.

FL07-09073.jpg

After that we slowly made our way to the Land. Soarin had a wait time of 30 minutes so we decided to get in line. The wait was more like 15 minutes!! CUZ loved it! I had rode it before and it's one of my faves. I was glad she liked it.

CUZ had chosen some really crappy flip flops for shoes. But thank goodness she had tennis shoes in the car. We decided she really must change shoes. We were moving way to slow and it was making me crazy! While she went out to the car, I hung out in Art of Disney and called my DISer sister to update her. By the time CUZ got back, World Showcase was almost open. But since she is a coke nut like me, I took her to the cool zone and offered her a taste of some delicious Beverly!

I then took the opportunity to help a kindly stranger choose a delicious beverage.

FL07-09093.jpg

This guy cracked me up!

On to the World....:yay:

Please note: I have more pictures, but have not uploaded to photobucket yet. Will get to that over the weekend and add them on Monday.

So, here we go, into the World Showcase. It's my fave place on earth!

As we walk in I am wondering if it's even open. There are NO people! We immediately go left, as is our tradition. Always, always Mexico first. We entered the building and CUZ went down the left side pathway...I always go right so this was kind of a new perspective. Funny how the little things can change your view so drastically! We stopped for our first picture...

FL07-09101.jpg

this is me!

We rode the Gran Fiesta, which is kind of boring but still a favorite for me. Especially on a very hot July day in FL. We then decided that the shared cookie has long gone and the starvation level was peaking. Plus I NEEDED a margarita. We went to the CS place and I order a chicken thing and wanted the tri-color margarita. they don't have those, you have to go to the marg bar around the corner. I tell him, OK, I'll get my drink there. But Jose fails to tell me that the margarita bar isn't open yet. Ugh, that Jose. He is going to join the list with Erick, with a CK!!:headache: So I go back and get one Margarita for me and one Pina Colada for CUZ! I have a pic which I will post later. Needless to say, it was delicious. Oh and here is the yummy food we had.

Next was Norway! We walked through the shop and enjoyed the Puffins...discussing Hef and Holly and the tragedy of their break-up :rotfl: We rode the ride, which is a little hokey but the water element was nice. I only wish the splash was more intense. Are you ready for another scary pic of me? :scared1:

I will stop here, as I am out of pictures. I promise to get that taken care of and have more for you soon!

Thanks for reading!!

so far and pictures!!! I followed you over here from another thread, since I'm trying to decide whether to stay off site at a DTD hotel this Feb. Or just suck it up and stay onsite.

I'm off to find your regal sun review....

Looking forward to reading more :surfweb:

I'm subscribed! I'm loving your report. :thumbsup2

I'm loving your TR thus far! :thumbsup2 Also love the photos.... I'm trying to talk my husband into buying me a Canon Digital Rebel, I think they take fabulous pictures.

All your talk about margaritas and pina coladas are making me salivate. I'm not a big drinker, but I'm 6 months pregnant and I want what I can't have. :rotfl: I'm really looking forward to my trip in March so I can indulge a little on some yummy foo-foo drinks! :cool1:

Looking foward to more! popcorn::
