Guess it'll be egg salad sandwiches (lord knows we've got enough hard-boiled Easter eggs) for my crew tonight! Served with a side of the mumps, of course. mmm...gypsydoodlebug said:You mean I'm not invited over for dinner tonight?![]()

Yummy, mump-salad sandwiches!!
Are you a Louisville native??
philaround said:I don't know if anyone has mentioned this yet but the news report I heard said that the mumps vacine was not 100% effective.

gypsydoodlebug said:MUCH better, thanks for asking. The swelling is down to about the size of a quarter under my ear. My editor and my publisher both think I should work from home "just in case" since the CDC says I'm contagious for 9 days since symptoms appeared (last Friday). I'm so grateful that I get to work from home and don't have to claim five sick or vacation days.
Feralpeg said:You probably got it on the airplane. On the news, they said that is how the outbreak started. One person sick on an airplane can rapidly spread an illness to many others.
I had the mumps as a kid. Not fun. DD was vacinated when she was very little. I heard that the vacination will not prevent someone from getting the mumps, but they should have a lighter case. Even so, I hope it doesn't make it to Florida.
OP, how you feel better soon!
