I Have Some Things to Say

I have had a life changing experience this week and just wanted to share it with everyone.

I think everyone knows that I am not the healthiest person in the world - but I try and put that behind me and make the most of everyday.

For my birthday this year I was in the hospital having a cardiac cath. I thought it would just be a routine thing and I would be fine. As always, nothing is just "normal an routine" with me.

They found a 100% blockage to one of the main arteries of my heart. I was in the cath lab for two hours while they tried and tried to open the blockage. Thank God they were able to open the blockage and they are saying I will be feeling much better soon.

I have been stressed out over such things as all the damaged stuff I have received from the Disney Catalogue - all the bent up legs on my new kitchen set and the headboard that they rolled up my driveway to deliver.

I have been stressed that no one will call and let know if my house is ready in Florida and if we can or when we can come and settle.

I have been upset that I had to cancel the two weeks we had planned in Disney for vacation and settlement.

But now I just thank God that they found the blockage so that I have many more years to enjoy Disney and my Disney friends and my pins.

This kind of thing puts everything in perspective.

My life now will be again filled with testing, not just for my previous cancer, but now for my heart. This I will stress over - not houses and damaged Disney things.

NOw I look forward to my new home and look forward to seeing all my Disney friends real soon. And I will be able to do the parks all day and all night and still have energy to pin trade.

I can not wait to get there.

I wanted to thank everyone on the boards for their well wishes.

Hope to See You All Real Soon.

Darlene

Darlene,

I'm glad your docs were able to unblock that artery for you...it must have been very scary.

I hope you are feeling better and looking forward to a happy holiday season. Don't sweat the small stuff...these things have a funny way of getting themselves taken care of...

Darlene! Wow! I'm SO glad they found this and were able to reverse it!

Please take care of yourself! Everyone here loves you and we would never want anything to happen to you - got it girl????

Darlene,

What an answer to prayer!! A friedn of yours on the baord shared with some of us, that you were having some serious test done. But wow! I had no idea.

I am so happy they were able to open the blockage. And I hope you are feeling better with each new day.

Someitmes God puts us in a "down" position to make us all look "up" and remember that, "He" is in control. These can be very sweet moments.

Also hope things start to look up as far as your new home here in Florida goes. It will be nice to see your face often!!

Loads of blessings,
Winnie

Darlene you know how Sandy and I feel... We think of you every day. You take care of the important things... Glad to hear the Doc found this out in time to correct it.

but I too am glad that the blockage was opened....pixie dust and good thoughts to you, Darlene, that you feel MUCH better VERY soon!

Steve & I have you in our thoughts and prayers.

Best wishes for a healthy and happy holiday season. As Leslie said......things have a way of taking care of themselves. You need to take care of you. We NEED you!!!

Hope to see you soon.

Darlene....I am so glad that they found it, and were able to remove it...We need your smiling face around here!!

I had a similar "life changing experience" a couple of years ago, and it really does make you change your priorities, as Lauri says "don't sweat the small stuff"...they can replace your damaged goods, but we can't replace you...

New Years resolution...No More Stressing... it is not worth it, and it doesn't help your health...trust me..I learned that the hard way..

We love you, and can't wait to see you..

and since you house is so close to us..let me know the location, and we will take a drive over this week end, and check it out for you..

I am so glad you are doing well. I had thought of you often and lit a few candles for you. I will continue to do so and you will remain in our thoughts and prayers.

After my Dad's diagnosis and 2 more rounds of chemo & radiaition,
we learned not to sweat the small stuff. We also know how fun it is to hold your breath on every test date.

I hope you continue to do great and hope to see you in Disney sometime.

Healing thoughts and hugs to you.
Let us know if we can do anything for you!

Darlene,

HUGS & PIXIE DUST for speedy recovery.

Now, you know you just had to have one more bout with SNOW before your move to Florida!!

Hoping to see your smiling face soon!

What a scary thing to have happen! I'm glad to hear that the blockage was able to be cleared, and that you'll be back to normal shortly. A huge {{{hug}}}, Darlene.

Darlene,
I am so glad they found something and they were able to work on fixing it for you. I know the past few months have been very difficult for you with all the tests and then not finding anything. I am glad they did find something that they can repair and get you back to feeling your old self.
I have been away from the boards and the computer for the past few days but was thinking about you. I tried to call, you need to turn on your cell phone once in a while!
I will talk to you soon. Peggie

Tiggersmom,
Sorry to hear about your dad. I spent the last two weeks at Drs and the hospital with my dad. Biopsies were done yesterday and next week he starts his first chemo treatments. I will pray for your dad and say a prayer for mine.

Dear Darlene - all the information about stressing out on "little" things is so true. With all the life changing things Roger has been through in the past three years, one clear thing he has realized is, life is too precious to worry so much. Things always seem to have a way of "working things through" but another beautiful morning to thank God for is a "gift!"
We are thrilled that the cardiac cath was a good diagnostic tool and the ballooning was successful. You will remain in our prayers!
Caroline

Oh Darlene!

You are always in my thoughts. I am so sorry you had to cancel your trip. But you will be so much better for future trips :)

Heres to a speedy recovery

Debbie

Hope you feel better soon. It was great pin hunting with you last February.
Will we see you this February?
This time if there is an ice storm in Kentucky ...I will stay in Florida. No more breaking my neck to get home to ice and no electricity for 6 days!!!

Get better soon.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Susan

Look at it this way I'll have you around much longer to convince you how madly in love you are with me. You know you are quit fighting it. :teeth:

Now come see me I miss you.

PS the house is fine the open house party I had in it for all the construction workers went off without a hitch.

PSS sorry about the two broken windows you know workers and boys will be boys. :teeth:

I owe you won huge (but gentle) hug. I'm sorry we've been out of touch.

I am glad this all worked out in the end. . . as if anything could keep you down for long! :)

Dear Darlene,

Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well and had to go through this; however, my brother-in-law had the same thing happen a few months ago--he wasn't feeling well, and unexpectedly they found a 99.9% blockage to the left artery, and he had to have triple bypass immediately. The good news is that he was feeling better very quickly, is back to his old self, and has an excellent prognosis, and I'm sure it will be the same for you!

We all think these things can't happen to us, and go through life not appreciating what we have; what a good message to remind us all what we should be grateful for in our lives.

Glad to hear you are doing better Darlene, that must of sucked hearing that without seeing the new house done (even though it is a little trashed after Ed's party)!!!!!!
You are right though....sweating the little things definitely takes a back seat when a reality check like you just had happens!!!!!
That's why I try not to sweat the little things but, I still do pet the sweaty things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God Bless
Manny, Michelle, Dylan
