I have made a oath to "try" and be nice to everyone

I have made an oath to myself that I am going to try really hard to be nice to everyone, and to try and find the good in everyone. I have a very good friend who does this and she has to be one of the nicest people I know and one of the happiest people. She never says a bad thing about anyone and always finds good. So I'm going to try this, there has to be some good in everyone right? And hopefully if I'm nice to people they will be nice back to me and I'll be a happier person. Do you agree??

Sure, I agree. Mostly because we are then taking the focus off ourselves and putting it toward others. I always find I'm happiest giving rather than receiving. One of those "opposite" things of this life.
I think everyone does have good in them. Sometimes searching out that good is a challenge and sometimes finding changes both of us.
Remember what Jesus said when asked what was the most important commandment? I think that there is definitely a reason why this is so.

I agree Beauty! That's how I try to be. It doesn't always work, but I try. And when it doesn't work, I make myself move on and forget the past. Starting each day new is the key for me.

I know what is evil about Christine! She lies! She has no evil, she is one of the sweetest Disers around! She is always sending nice and funny PM's and has a knack for knowing when you really need them.

Another rule I live by, Beth. I always try to put a smile on my face. I find that even if I am having a bad day, if I am smiling, I feel better.

Wow, Beauty, I would say that it is very magnificent of you to set this high goal!
On the other hand, wouldn't this world be a dull and boring place if everyone was nice all the time? I don't know, I'm just speculating. I used to be afraid to argue, but now I find I enjoy a good argument (a la Monty Python).
On the other hand, when people are mean to me, I feel rotten despite my best intention not to let meanness get me down.

I try to be nice all the time, maybe I'm too bland.
