I have gone completely crazy...and I blame it on MNSSHP

I bought the super deluxe Tinkerbell costume last year after Halloween when it was 50% off. It was still almost $40. Now my little angel wants to be a Power Ranger!!!!! LOL.

A Wraith from Stargate Atlantis.

I drew the line at the full-on tailored leather costume, so it is an approximation, but he had fun making his breastplate thingy.

if I see em, I will make sure to shoot a few hundred times and make sure he cant touch me to steal my life force! :goodvibes

Check your local Goodwill.

I was at our Goodwill and saw many newer inexpensive costumes.
My sister got mother/daughter brand new fairy costumes. They were $4 each.
You just never know what you'll find there. Our Goodwill is very small and still had about 30 or more costumes.

We'll be there on 10/31, and we're starting the evening with a 4PM dinner at CRT. I'm sure he'll suck the life force out of a nice big steak.

My closet full of costumes saga...

First I had a friend pick up my DD's costume at Disney, she wanted the white cinderella dress...just under 100.00

Then decided that we should go to MNSSHP...I order a what I thought was a cute Minnie Mouse Costume for me and contacted an ebay seller to make one for my DD. My costume came and I look like a prostitute, can't wear it at Disney. Ebay seller didn't answer a few of my emails...

Next I order the nice Minnie costume from Disney direct.

A couple days later and still no word from the seller, so I went to the Disney Store and bought my DD the matching costume to mine. Get home she tries it on and loves it. Cut the tags off and wash it. Later that night the ebay seller contacts me and said that my private auction was up...Crap! So I bought that one too.

Now on to a costume for CRT, I really don't want DD to wear her Halloween costume since she is a messy eater. Soooooo thinking that it is still warm out I bought her a cute Cinderella Ballet Costume. She starts crying because it doesn't look like Cinderella's dress.. Ok that one can get put with her dress up clothes.

Today at TRU I bought a blue Cinderella dress and she likes that one much better for her lunch with Cinderella...

So if you are keeping count:
Me--1 prostitute looking Minnie Costume
Me--1 Nice Minnie costume and they yellow shoes
DD--2 Minnie Mouse Costumes
DD--THREEE Cinderella Outfits

Good thing she likes to play dress up! :rotfl2:

Glad I am not the only one!
So far I have one Lilo costume for DD2, one Will the W.I.T.C.H. costume for dd1, one Jasmine costume for me...even found purple shoes for the Will costume!

But DH had not found an Aladdin costume he liked so I just bought pirate costumes for everyone...figure they are very cool, easy to pack, great in pictures...any other justifications for 2 sets of Halloween costumes?!

And if DH finds an Aladdin costume he likes I will get that as well...we can always use them next year! Or maybe we will just go to MNSSHP a second night....hmmm...theres a thought!

Thank goodness Halloween costumes resell on ebay so easily! :teeth:

I was about to add that I don't know if the OP understands just how warm it is in Florida in October. It would not be unusual for temps at that time of night to still be in the low 90's or high 80's. If that is the same power ranger costume I saw last year (looks like it's made of vinyl), it will be way too hot for that costume.

One of the kids DS went trick or treating with last year had to be treated for dehydration because he wore that costume.

That was my problem! We are from Wisconsin, and we usually need warm costumes, one year it even snowed! :earseek: Anyway this year we will be in Disney, so we need something a little different, my daughter will be Minnie Mouse, but everything my son's want is going to be way to hot for them, so I'm still not sure what they will be? :confused3

My girls do not really like the princesses and my son (2) has no idea who even mickey is...so WHY are we going to WDW, for mommy of course :cool1:

anyway, the girls got costumes from American Girl and then of course we had to get gold and silver shoes, which cost almost as much as the costumes...which was $50-$60...but unfortuanly i usually spend that much on halloween costumes.....

then my son, i just cannot bring myself together to do the disney thing. so he is going to be a "karate kid", and you guessed it i bought a "real" karate suit....at least he doesn't need shoes..... :goodvibes

now hubby and me. got trading spaces shirts, cheap and easy!!! so when you see a Grecian princess in blue, a Flapper Girl in Silver, a karate Kid and the trading spaces gang at MNSSHP on Oct 2.....come say hey!!!

You guys are HILARIOUS!!! I love the responses.

As far as the heat, we went in Oct. 02, and it was pretty hot then. I'm hoping this Oct. will be a little cooler (Not expecting...just hoping :) )

The costumes are actually not that hot. The arms and legs are made of that thin costume material. The only thing that would get too hot would be the helmet (sturdy cloth ones) and the gloves, and they could easily take those off.

They are literally BEGGING me right now to let them wear them tonight. I have already taken the tags off, so returning them isn't an option. My oldest and youngest are the black power ranger. My other two sons have the blue and red outfits.

And thanks for telling me about the $400 costume....I don't feel so bad anymore, lol ;)

As far as me, I was going to do the vintage mousekateer outfit, but the closer it gets, the more I think I'm going to go with my orange t-shirt w/a black bat on it from Target. Only $5 If you average that and the $0 we'll spend for DH, it amounts to about $27 each.... :earboy2:
