I Have Done Nothing to Get Ready for Holidays-Now changed to *See my Tree* thread

I have not bought one Christmas gift yet. I have not even stepped into a store to look.

I have done no decorating.

I have done no baking.

I have done no cleaning in preparation for the decorating.

I have not made up a "What to Buy" Christmas list, nor have I made up a "What I Want" Christmas list.

And it's not like I don't have to do these things either.

Come on guys. I can't be be the only procrastinator here. Who else is brave enough to admit that they are putting off what must eventually be done? (but believe me, I will get it all done in time.)

Well.. I started to do stuff yesterday. Just cleaned a bit and hung up our stockings. And put a bow outside so the neighbors don't call us scrooges.

No cards. Haven't even done our wedding thank yous yet. Oops.

No baking - Maybe this weekend. Maybe.

Did get DH two gifts today. Ordered online.

DH and I did his five nieces and nephews presents the other night - online. I have my two nieces left to do.

No tree. No room to put a tree. We are figuring we'll go out in the woods and grab a branch and prop it up. lol

Didn't get the dog's picture with Santa this year. His grandma likes those pictures of him. Oh well.

DH decided this year that I should get my own presents. Sigh... I don't want to be like that, but I agreed for this year only because his job is keeping him late every day. However, he has not told me a limit. Hmmm....

Nothing wrong with procrastinating!

I've bought 4 gifts and that is all... no decorations, no baking, no noodles...LOL!... Since returning from WDW, I can't get in the mood... I feel like I have already had Christmas...

I've bought presents for my kids and nieces and nephews, I've sent out about 130+ Christmas cards, but that's all I've done. I haven't put up my tree or decorated. NO baking either. Too early to bake.

I have done some shopping for DD, but not a single "adult" gift has been bought.

My tree is up AND the lights are strung - but no ornaments (oops I forgot I put my just rec'd exchange ornament on tonight )

Cooking?? Cleaning?? Nope!

No exterior decorating either - in fact my Tigger Halloween flag is still up

Last year: Tree up and decorated by December 1st..

This year: Tree up yesterday.. DH trimmed it this morning while I was moaning and groaning from a wicked migraine..

Last year: Shopping practically done and all wrapped by this date..

This year: Bought a few things on-line last week.. Did a bit of shopping today.. Wrapped about 10 things tonight..

Last year: Designed and printed my own Christmas cards on my computer.. Had them mailed by December 1st..

This year: WHAT cards??????

Last year: Designed and printed out original Christmas gift tags on my computer..

This year: Blue post-it notes...

Last year: Baked a zillion different kinds of cookies..

This year: Bought two packages of sugar cookie mix today..

Last year: Every nook and cranny in the house decorated - right down to the toilet tissue holder..

This year: I think there's two Christmas pot holders flung on the kitchen table..

And Monday I start a new job.. Will be working 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day...

Am I gonna get everything done?? Probably not..

But I'm not going to stress about it either...

Gosh, you all are behind! LOL Is this an every year deal for you? Do you work well under pressure? I am fascinated by this. Can you tell?

I'm not completely done yet but I'm close...I''ll finish by 6:00am Christmas morning. (I hope)

Tuli it's`time to stop procrastinating, and get moving. If you plan on having a stress free holiday get your fingers off the keyboard and your leg moving.

You only have 12 days till Christmas Eve.

Something about the bitter cold has slowed me down this year too. By Monday I should be done. House decorated and cleaned. Gifts purchased and hopefully wrapped. Cookies baked.

Now it's time to sit and watch a few Christmas Specials, the only time of the year I watch TV.

I've barely started. Baked some yesterday. Put some lights on the tree. Walked away.

Bought a few gifts. Don't feel like going out and doing the rest.

What can I tell you? Too much else going on that's just TOO MUCH FUN!

I have not done any baking and worse I have not even purchased the supplies at the grocery store.

I have not done the Christmas cards.

I still have about half of my shopping left to do and I do not even have a complete list of what to buy for people.

I have not taken DS to visit Santa yet.

I have not done any decorating except for the outside lights and the tree (which just got done this week).


Worse yet is that this upcoming weekend is pretty much my last chance to get it all done!

Tulirose, I'm with you! I haven't started a thing, even though we have three kids, and friends coming to spend the night Saturday the 21st and also a small party at our house that night. We also have to go to my parents on the 22nd and his family on the 25th. I also don't have any more vacation time left at work. Wow, what a year.

Fortunately I have this Saturday, Sunday and Monday off. I figure I have three days to clean, decorate and shop. I'll have to go grocery shopping Friday the 20th and start making food for the party the next night. Somehow I will get it done.

Well my parents put up the tree and all the decorations so that doesn't count. I went and bought something for the ornament exchange and I bought gifts for my sister. Other than that I haven't done anything! I'm starting this weekend since I just finished school today (except for 2 easy exams I have to go to next week).

There's a lesson here for us all, Joyce: When we are feeling smug, we best be on the alert because *no noodles* will always do us in!!! (But no noodles is always better than burnt noodles! Right Mom2Em?) LOL

And mamu - thanks for the wake up call. I have been officially reprimanded by one of my favorite buds! But don't worry much about me. I do this every year and every year everything gets done (and if it don't no one but me notices anyway!)
