I have been informed that I'm "getting older"...

I get headaches now from being on the computer all day. My grandmother says, "Well, maybe you need glasses. You're getting older, you know."

I have pain in my knees when it's going to rain. My grandmother says, "Maybe you have arthritis. You're getting older, you know."

I'm interested in a man. My mother says, "So when are you going to call him and go out? You need to meet someone and get married again and have a baby. You're not getting any younger."

This is depressing. I'm just over 30 - I'm still young!

Next time someone points out that you're getting older, just remind them that we've all been "getting older" since the day we were born.

I just turned 36 a couple weeks ago, and while my body isn't as young as it once was, I'm not going to get depressed about my age. It's just not worth it. There are so many people in this world who are battling crippling illnesses, injuries, etc. that would love to just be another year older. I'll be thankful for where I am in life because I just know it could be so much worse.

I'm not afraid of getting older by any means...I'm looking forward to my late 30s and 40s...but does it have to be said like it's a bad thing?

It's cause they wish they were your age again. Since they can't be, they'd rather make you feel bad by pointing out that you are getting closer to their age.

I'm giving him until Friday...then I'm going to suck it up and try to do it. He was away last week, then he had his kids all weekend, and he works late (until 8:30-9) on Monday nights. So he hasn't exactly been around...

I WISH someone could do it for me, but I'm not in high school anymore!
