I have been diagnosed with Glioblastoma.

My MIL was just diagnosed with GBM May 27th. Wondering how Amy is doing with her treatment and sending her my thoughts and prayers.

Thinking of you too, and hope all is well.

Amy, just wanted you to know that my continued prayers and thoughts are with you. Sending you 1 Peter 5:7. Which also happens to be one of the VBS verses of the day this week.

Last year I had the operations, coma and radiation and this year I am teaching VBS. PTL. (well my ds helps me with the voice when its bad). So keep fighting tough sista. Blessings always.

My nephew was diagnosed with the same type brain tumor in 2001 at the age of 9. He is now 18, still has the tumor, but is doing well. He is under the treatment of the oncologists at Duke in Durham, NC. We were told surgery was not possible at first, but after much radiation and chemo, they finally resulted to surgery and got all they could of it. He was on seizure meds for the entire time, up until recently when they cut it back so much that he hardly takes much for them. Knock on wood, he has not had a seizure in a few years and is doing great. We take each day, month and year at a time and are very grateful for the power of prayer. I would not hesitate to get an opinion from Duke. Like a previous poster stated, if Ted Kennedy used them, they must be good as he could go anywhere in the world if he wanted.

I'm so happy to read your nephew's uplifting story. I will pray that he continues to progress so so well! Duke was the second place we visited following UAB's news that they could only offer "standard of care" for me and with the one genetic marker they test for they didn't even know if it would treat the tumor. At Duke we learned that I did not qualify for any of their trials either. So we were led to Dr. Burzynski in Houston, Texas.

I had a visit with him in June and he made a few changes to my meds. I am taking 2 new orals meds specifically for solid mass tumors and 2 IV meds. One is specifically targeted at the gene markers that are testing high in my bloodwork and one is Avastin which cuts off the blood supply specifically to the tumor itself. I will probably be having a port put in to make these treatments easier.

I have a follow up MRI next Friday. We hope to see NO NEW GROWTH but most importantly SHRINKAGE of the tumor itself.

Thank you all for your support. I appreciate it so much!!!! I hope everyone is enjoying the summer...we've been so lazy here...the heat just knocks me out!

Thinking about you - wondering how your MRI turned out, and mainly wanting you to know we are all still thinking positive thoughts about you. Hope this has been a good week and that you have a SUPER weekend.

Take good good care of yourself.

My continued thoughts and prayers are with you too. Fight tough my friend!!

That is an old name I haven't heard in awhile, Stanislaw Burzynski. I remember in the 90s when the FDA raided his offices, strangely with guns drawn if I remember correctly. Regardless of what is thought of his treatment methods, I thought it wrong what the government was trying to do. His patients believe in him and his treatments.

Very best of luck with Dr. Burzynski.

If I developed cancer, I personally would look to eat a Warburg diet. If not familiar with this diet, it can be read about here:

I would also maximize my vitamin D3 levels. Dr Davis has a good article on how to do that, I thought.

njkzmom - you will be in my prayers. I missed your story before it got bumped today. You are dealing with such a difficult tumor! My prayers are with you and I hope you have had some success with your treatment. Ignore negativity!

I'm sending up prayers for you, too, my friend. And count me in the camp of Dr. Burzynski. I believe in him and think he is the greatest. Hoping you are doing great under his care and feeling better every day. :goodvibes

Sending prayers and hugs your way.

My MIL who was diagnosed with this in May is starting her second round of chemotherapy, going for an MRI Sept1. I didnt see your story but hope all is going well for you.

Amy, I just read this thread and your posts re-affirm to me what a gift faith is. I have been blessed with faith, and I am praying for you and for all of those that love you. :grouphug::grouphug:

How are you doing? I prayed for you in Mass Sunday.:grouphug:
