I think it is the Nutri System commercial, but the woman is bragging how she went from a size 10 to a size 4....

It IRKS the hell out of me. HELLO? No wonder the kids today have a self-esteem problem.

It used to be a size 10 was a perfect size to be, and only women with a great metabolism was a size 4. Now, we are supposed to aspire to be a 4? FROM A TEN??????

Does this commercial bug anyone else? Especially from a company that does not teach proper eating habits. just eat our food and you'll lose weight, stop eating out food, and it will come back.

That's funny because I have always that the same thing.
Not a great message we are sending our kids.

Yep, I find myself grinding my teeth when that one comes on. I am Pooh sized and due to a medical condition I will never be a size 10 let alone a size 4. It just tickes me off that now people think a size 10 it too big.

You are right, they are not teaching better eating habits. I have a friend who was on this and the only reason she lost weight was because the food was so bad she could not eat it. But as soon as she was done with her contract, she put the weight back on.

The other commercial that really ticks me off is the one for a diet pill and they show a girl in a pink bikini and she lost over 20 lbs. Ok, first off, she could wear a bikini before the weight loss, not too bad I would say. And the after pic's look like all she did was a lot of ab crunchs just to tighten up. She really did not need to loose weight.

I consider size 10 to be much healthier for a woman of average height than size 4.
I doubt my fleshless skeleton would wear a size 4!

Oh yes! That commercial irks me to no end!

Yes I've seen this commercial and had the same reaction.

Amen. A size ten is a perfectly normal and healthy weight for many individuals. For me, it is a goal.

That is what I don't get. Why did someone decide it was time to market towards people who do not need to lose weight? I am sure that commercial has many women who were perfectly fine at a size 10, second guessing their body.

Sure, I am sure there are some people who natural size is a 4..so to be a ten would mean they do need to lose VERY few pounds. But to market a whole compaign to a fraction of women?

In a way I am almost glad I don't have any daughters. It is sickening.

I'm guilty the commerical is for me. I am a size 10 & not happy with it. I have been 8-10 the last 10 years. Before I was 0-4.

I have osteoarthritis & can not excercise. I can walk & do yoga but I don't.

I guess you are talking about the commercial with Zora from Joe Millionaire? Also keep in mind that she is close to 6 ft tall, making the concept that a woman of that height is overweight when she wears a size 10 is even more ridiculous.

But notice on the commercials they disclose "results not typical"!!! Why not show results that are typical?? False advertising if you ask me.

I would love to see her before picture. I have a hard time believing she was fat. I also consider 10 my ideal size. I can see getting down to an eight, myabe, but I honestly don't want to be "skinny". I remember when that was a deragatory term!

Is this the one that begins with the woman walking on the beach in the pink bikini? I saw that one and immediately thought that she was a darn hot looking woman, but then I saw that was supposed to be her overweight before shot! Darn she looked fine in her before and abit skinny in her afters.

Isn't today's size 10 supposedly bigger than it was at one time? I find the whole concept of sizes confusing since they've supposedly changed. I don't really know what a good size is any more.

I agree though that a size 10 being "fat" sounds bizarre though particularly when it's a tall woman.

My favorite weight-loss ad is the one where someone keeps shouting about stubborn belly fat. Stubborn?

You're comment on height is important to the issue. At 6 ft tall, a size 4 would be icky skinny. But if you're barely 5 ft, a size 10 would be pretty large, wouldn't it? I'm 5'8" or so, 139 pounds (according to my scale) and a size 6-8. At a size 10 I would feel too large.

Have you seent the latest Nutrisystem ad? The message they are sending to men isn't any better.

"I went on the Nutrisystem diet and my sex life improved".

Today's 10 is a size or 2 larger than the 10 of years gone by. Still, I'm 5'3" and wear a 10/12 depending. I was down to an 8/10 and looked sickly so I suppose it's all individual. Who cares what the size on the tag says, as long as I think I look and feel healthy I'm good with it.
